I am so happy I found Weinstein Chiropractic. I was in pain for years, and after only 2 weeks of care, I am standing and walking again. My hips and outside of my knees hurt so bad, no other doctor had told me about a ligament that runs exactly where I hurt. Weinstein did tell me, I am stretching and becoming so much more mobile. I am so excited that I can walk again. I recommend going to this office, they have really helped me. You will enjoy the staff also, always helpful.
Great care - excellent with children – My family and I have been going to Weinstein Chiropractic for four years and have had excellent results! My husband originally went for neck and back problems and I eventually went to help manage my carpal tunnel symptoms. (too early to give in to surgery at just 35!) The results have been amazing and so much so that our three (soon to be four) children also go. Our youngest hasn't had an ear infection in over 15 months (he's 25 months now) and would've had tubes by now with the way he was going. Our daughter had recurring UTIs because of constipation and chiropractic treatment has all but eliminated that. And our middle son in all his little boy rough and toughness was getting leg pain that would wake him at night. The staff is amazing with the kids and our children ask to get adjusted - or as they like to refer to it as "popcorn" if they haven't been for a while. I can't say enough about the staff, the quick service and most importantly the health improvements my family has experienced! We highly recommend this practice.
Get your life back! – I have been going to Weinstein Chiropractic Center for 6 months now and have received excellant care. Dr. Curtis Weinstein and Dr. Krystal Wolf have done a great job on helping me with my vertigo that I have had for the past 2 years and have seen numerous other specialist on and no one could help me. Once I started going here I have had great relief and no more vertigo. The staff is very friendly and they will answer all your questions and the drs do not rush you through like you are just a number. They explain every thing that they are doing and why they do it. I was very skeptical about chiropractors and not sure that this would even work. But it has help me a lot. I would highly recommend if you are in pain and suffering to give Weinsteins a call.
100% RECOMMENDED!!!! – I have never received better care for my back, neck, and headaches/migraines. If you are having any discomfort or pain, I encourage you to go check it out...I have the utmost confidence that they can and will help you!
Response to Pitt fan 4 Life. – Dear Pitt fan 4 life, Please allow me to respond to your issues. First off thank you very much for your compliments on our care. I have been in practice for over 27 years and have taken care of over 17000 patients during my career. We do have one of the largest practices in western Pa. I would like to think due to the top notch care and service we provide. Thanks again.
As for the billing procedures, you are under contract with your insurance carrier as we are with most as well. We only get reimbursed what your insurance carrier deems UCR (usual reasonable and customary). We do collect co-pays as per your contract with the ins carrier as well as ours. If you were not paying your copay it is because your FSA was picking this up as it should. With all the new FSA, HSA, etc plans many companies do not understand how they work and it has become a billing nightmare for all practitioners as well as patients. My insurance staff is very well versed in these matters and it is not our fault if your company or you for that matter did not contact us to rectify this situation. We have helped thousands of patients with their insurance questions over the years and will continue to do so even though it is ultimately you, the patient, that has the contract with your carrier. We do this free of charge even with the headaches it causes my staff. I am sorry your company or you did not bring this to my attention personally or to the attention of Jen or Geri my billing staff. We would have been more than happy to help you out with this. As for the fees for service, we provide outstanding care for our patients and this will not change. If you check your explanation of benefits provided to you by your insurance company you will see the true amount paid and I'm sure it will be within the "standard" limits you described for other Chiropractic care you received. I really am disappointed in you that you would intentionally mislead the public as to what you and your insurance company actually paid for our services. We don't set the fees. Your insurance carrier sets the fee schedule and every carrier is different. Again a nightmare for our insurance staff. This is why most offices now have you pay up front and let you on your own to deal with the insurance carrier. Even though the cost of dealing with the insurance companies is becoming prohibitive, we will continue to provide this service to all of out loyal patients, past, present and future. Thank you, Dr Gary Weinstein DC
Great people, terrible billing policies – I've gone to the chriopractor for several years and recently moved to Moon Twp and tried out Dr. Weinstein.
The office is nice, the wait time is minimal (never had to wait at all), and the doctors and nurses are top notch. They are friendly, always try to remember your name, and lead you through everything easily and promptly. I had no problems with the care I received.
That said, I stopped going there because of how they do their billing. I've been to 4 chiros in the last several years and none have billed my insurance company so much money. Previously visits cost about $40-$75. Weinstein bills my insurance nearly $175 PER visit. And they don't charge me a co-pay because they don't bill the insurance as a 'doctor visit,' they bill it as a visit, 2 physical therapy sessions, and spine manipulation... to which my insurance requires me to pay my deductible to pay for, then co-insurance.
So I could visit my old chiro's for $20 a visit no matter what... but here my costs varied every time. And they make you pre-pay on their "guess" for how much the insurance won't cover. So I would be paying $75 and my insurance statement would come in and say I only had to pay $12 for that visit or vice versa.
They would credit my account, but then my FSA started denying my payments because the numbers never matched up. I told them to call the doctor and they can explain their idiotic billing policies, but apparently they didn't bother. So I had to reimburse my FSA for everything... that was the last straw for me going there. It's just not worth the hassle for someone to guess how much I owe everytime because they're too cheap to send out a freaking paper bill/paper check if we're over or under. With how much they're charging my insurance company they should be able to afford endless paper statements.
Summary: Good doctors, quality care, but avoid if you don't like the hassle of talking to your insurance company twice a week and being forced to reimburse your FSA.
