WOW!!!!!!! – Ignorance is bliss, PELFREAK. I can only imagine the conversation that took place with PELFREAK. As someone who works with patients in a busy practice, I have yet to meet a billing person who dictates practice policy & procedures for daily operations of the business. They are just working slobs like the rest of us who are told what to do by the doctors and/or management in charge. If this billing person is in charge of all that, she deserves a raise!!!! I hope your management staff sets PELFREAK straight and if they don't SHAME ON THEM!!!! Can't wait to go for my appointment and talk to Helen. Maybe we can share some horror stories about other PELFREAKS who think they know it ALL!!!!!! I would also bet PELFREAK likes to use their one, huge mouth more than their two tiny ears. Anyone who writes a review like that obviously doesn't have a brain. Keep your chin up, Helen, not everyone is a classless jerk like PELFREAK.
NEVER EASY TO BLAME OURSELVES, EASIER TO PLACE IT ELSEWHERE. – As a patient, I personally have dealt with multiple staff members who were NEVER RUDE in fact quite pleasant. I was surprised to read the comments on this page while searhing for the phone # to make my next apt.
I have spoke to Helen the billing clerk before and, "What a nice lady". She has been at Sewickley Eye Group for quite sometime. Someone who didn't know how to do their job wouldn't have lasted very long at one of the best opthamologist practices in the greater pittsburgh area.
For someone to call her and tell her how to do her job who holds little to no education in medical billing (review email by Pelfreak) is the one who is unprofessional in my opinion.
Please tell me when billing clerks started working side by side with insurance underwriters.
Here's to you Helen..........If you were present at the meeting where Blue Cross inacted the great policy that covers eye exams at 100% with no copay's, or fitting fees lmao... and then there holding the hand of (Pelfreak) as he or she chose their policy or job which carries their policy. Well, no excuses then, shame on you for not billing her or him corretly. Would you be there when I pick my next policy too, and remember it too...
Maybe this is a lesson for us all. Know your insurance policy and if you don't call your insurance company and learn about it. Seriously, it is your responsibility to know what you are covered for and what will come out of your pocket.
God forbid your life ever depends on wheteher or not your insurance covers the treatment. Don't you want to know your covered. Don't find out when its too late and now you have a pre-existing condition and can't get coverage. We can all learn from Pelfreak as what not to do (calling and blaming everyone else for what we should already know.)
Fortunately, I am a laborer and dont have to worry about Pelfreaks.
GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! – Everyone from the doctors to the front office staff were very professional and helpful. The billing department was EXTREMELY helpful when i recieved a bill i did not agree with, Helen went above and beyond her job duties to contact my insurance company (which is my responsibility as the policy holder!!!!!) to verify my exact benefits and then explained them in a way i could understand. She also worked with me in setting up a payment plan. THANK YOU HELEN!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND SEWICKLEY EYE GROUP TO ANYONE.
BILLING NIGHTMARE!!!!! – Doctor was very professional as was their technical staff (Chris). The billing department is a complete TRAIN WRECK and Helen is the Engineer!!. Incorrect coding (coded as medical and not vision), would not resubmit correctly when asked, had to get insurance involved, still did not code correctly the second time, they never submitted contacts exam to insurance company, going on 3 months now and we just got a bill for $40.00 and a collections notice!!! Blue Cross covers vision exams at 100 percent WTF!!! Calling the billing department AGAIN to tell them how to do their job...Angie is working to repair the situation but ITS NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION!!
Rude and unfriendly staff – Rude, rude, rude. the office staff is just awful....they did not have my records that I sent in before my visit. I will not be back, the optical department is the worst. My doctor was good and thorough, but the rest of the staff is unprofessional and not friendly or helpful at all.
