By combining eclectic Mediterranean fare with a welcoming outdoor patio, this restaurant and wine bar guarantees an enjoyable dining experience. – In Short
Casbah's tan stucco-walled entrance recalls the look of its namesake Moroccan neighborhood, and when the weather allows, patrons retreat to the large enclosed outdoor patio for alfresco dining. The seasonal menu features a few perennial favorites, including Tuscan vegetable minestrone and a lean, homemade merguez sausage over escarole. Indicative of the intricate entrees is orchiette pasta with grilled chicken, cranberries, goat cheese and sage cream.

Well done! – I have to say that the service at Casbah is excellent. Everyone is so friendly from the Maitre'D to the bartender to your waiter. They have an excellent drink selection. I believe it's the best wine selection you'll find among the Big Burritos if not Pittsburgh itself. If you can't decide which wine to try they have fleets in the back of the menu to allow you to savor the taste of several and still get home in one piece. The food is excellent. I think they lack a little on their vegetarian selection but their lamb is excellent. Always a favorite for me! Slightly pricey, but if that isn't a concern for you, bon appetite.

Get ready to eat a LOT of bread – The food here is decent, but the portions are way too small. A $13 entree of ravioli's consisted of 4 (!!) ravioli's that were about 2"x2" - that's like a dollar per in^2 of food! My complaint isn't about the food, it was very good. But even with soup, I left hungry. Which is a shame considering the cost!

Classy Pittsburgh Restaurant – Casbah was a great find for us - delicious food, pleasant, cosmopolitan atmosphere, great service and an extensive wine list. It was a little expensive, but worth it.

Great laid back dining – I really enjoying eating dinner here, but I don't do it nearly enough. I always have had great food and a good time at this restuarant, but for some reason, never remember it is in ShadySide. The food is terrific and the wait staff has always been superb. I have only been there twice, but still love it every time. It is a very relaxing and laid back atmosphere.
