Bad take-out experience. – A couple buddies and me showed up about 30 minutes before they close and placed an order for a couple boxes of General Tso's and rice. The food was out quickly, but we didn't bother to look at it until we were home. The breading was soggy, the sauce was almost tasteless, and the rice was dry and packed in Styro-foam coffee cups. We ate it because we were hungry, but it was hard to stomach. Maybe they were upset because we ordered so close to closing time, or maybe they didn't like that we ordered the default American choice, but that's what we were served. At any rate, the price wasn't better than average if not a little below. I wanted to frequent this place because it is close to home, but I have avoided it since. Take my review with a grain of salt, and perhaps listen to the previous review and visit them in their dining room and order something different.
Don't go here. Stick to the chains. Really. Regulars don't want you. – Dear Pittsburgh: Keep your "potstickers" made with pierogi dough. Keep your "sesame noodles" made with peanut butter. Keep your General Tso's Chicken with enough batter to make the Colonel jealous.
We'll take Dave and Ray's versions of the above at Hong Kong. What they cook up is as good as anything on Canal St. Not too many places we'll gladly order off menu and trust what comes back.
One other thing. This is where restaurant pro eat when they want good Chinese. So don't go here. You won't appreciate it.
