COLOR ME MINE Pittsburgh is on FACEBOOK. with tons of ceramic pieces to choose from I found myself creating a great DIY project I was proud of. The staff is totally friendly and helpful. We all had a great time.

A paint-it-yourself ceramic studio to stimulate those creative juices you thought you had lost after childhood.. The Scene
"Everyone can paint ceramics," I was told as I walked into the store. After mulling over the huge selection of ceramics, from frogs to candleholders, I picked a square plate to create my masterpiece. A friendly employee helped me pick paints that worked well together out of the 75 bright underglaze paints. Now it's creation time.

The Plan
The store recommends you draw your design in pencil, to get a feel for your design. If you're not feeling too creative, completed examples cover the shelves around the store. I started to paint and three hours later, my masterpiece was completed. It was time-consuming but gratifying because in five days, I picked up my finished piece (shown at left). Color Me Mine keeps the piece for five days to fire the piece in the kilns and to add an overglaze.
