FÍOR PUB GAELACH – As an Irishman who travels the world I have to say this is the first Irish bar I have encountered where the barman spoke perfect Irish with a lovely Connemara blas! I dropped in for a quick view and stayed about 5 hours. This bar is uniquely Irish and not one of those characterless franchises. Indeed, it is more Irish than most of the bars at home!

The clientele and staff were the friendliest I have encountered in Pittsburgh. It was the first good 'feed' of guinness I had for months and it was perfect. The shepherds pie was perfect and nearly as good as 'me mother' made at home!

This bar has been a gem to find.

Just OK – The owner Dave was simply not friendly. The food was just OK. The band that was there was amazing and the bar set up is pretty good. It has kind of a locals only feel to it and it wasnt very warm or welcoming.

Disappointing for 'Irish' Pub – This place seems to be going even further downhill since the first time I visited 5 years ago. The menu has dwindled and no longer carries staple Irish appetizers, and drinks & food are horribly overpriced. A whiskey sour with cheap whiskey passes as a $5.00 drink. Three pieces of fried mozzarella are $9.25. The wait staff and bartenders are mostly indifferent. Unfortunately the atmosphere every time I've visited has been cold. Apparently they feel that an Irish pub consists of serving Guinness and scheduling a band named "Corned Beef & Curry." But if you're visiting from a city with a strong Irish cultural element, you will be very disappointed with this pub.

Mixed bag. Some Great, some not so good. – They have some great items on the menu. Cuban sandwich is bomb, better than Kaya's cuban. They have a bad habit of removing menu items that are good. At one point they had a great pulled pork sandwich, and a bbq quesadilla, both of which are history. The irish food is average.

The drinks are a bit overpriced for a place that also serves food.

Like the menu, the waitstaff is a mixed bag. Some days you get waited on hand and foot, and others it might take 20-30 minutes to get your first drink (in a nearly empty place mind you).

Take note of their entertainment schedule... At all costs avoid karaoke night... its a bunch of 40 year olds singing bad songs from the 70's.

Their happy hour is very generous, offering FREE WINGS AND SUBS with the drinks. You can get a decent meal along with your liquor 5:00 every day....

The liquor selection is slightly above average. Its a good place to hang out and talk with friends casually. I usually don't start my night out with friends saying "I'm going to the harp", but somehow It ends up being the least evil choice along the way and we have a decent time there.

They get a bonus star because they stayed open during last year's great flood when the electricity went out and kept me and my co-workers dry and drunk for the hours that we had no where to go to.

Best for beer and music – Very popular local music venue. Nice Irish/American Pub atmosphere. Friendly service. Food is generally pretty ordinary.

Don't Waste Your Time/Money – Ya know, I was really hoping this place would be good since it's rated a top Irish bar in this city, and they've got Irish music coming through...

But F this place! Aside from the usual rule of overcharging for drinks since you call yourselves an "Irish pub"... not shot glasses??? NO F'ING WAY!!!

You expect me to pay 8 dollars or whatever for a car bomb (with Guiness that is improperly poured, mind you) and give me this tiny little plastic cup w/ Bailey's and a splash of whiskey? My fellow drunkards who know booze, we must stand up and not patron these types of businesses who care more about taking your money for the gimmick than caring about the true drinkers out there.

Never again... not until they get some real shot glasses and learn how to be a real Irish bar.

Great fun – This pub is fantastic. The people are so friendly and the owner Ann would do just about anything for her patrons. I've been to weddings there, party's, and just out for a Saturday night. Great food. Great service. Fantastic selection of drinks. Good music and Ceili dancing every Tuesday.

Great for casual family get togethers – My family loves this place. My hubby and I went there when we were dating and we had our wedding luncheon there (very informal wedding). We've gone there for birthdays too. The food is always excellent and the restaurant itself is great with wonderful staff and casual surroundings. They serve traditional Irish foods but there's something for everyone and the fried pickles are excellent.

Live Irish music, frothy pints and a rowdy atmosphere transport patrons to the Emerald Isle. – In Short
Mullaney's small raised stage often hosts live bands--like Red Hand Paddy and Celtic Clan--strumming out classic Irish ballads, rebel anthems, sing-alongs and related contemporary ditties. Better yet, there's plenty of room to dance. As in any good pub, Irish or otherwise, the menu is hearty: lamb stew, shepherd's pie, and the obligatory fish and chips.
