One of the BEST Pizza's in Pittsburgh! – You go here for the great pizza not for the appearance or to be seen. I've been going to this Pizza place for years now while I went ot school in town and now since I work in town and sometimes travel from home in the North Hills to pick up a Mama Lucia's pizza because it's that good! They sell by the slice and the prices are fabulous for Downtown City prices! It's a family owned business and the owner is the sweetest most down to earth guy. I have not once had a bad experience or bad food out of all the years that I've been going to Mama's. There cheese fries are fabulous as well! My favorite slice of pie would have to be the Mushroom and Banana Pepper! This place is a must try!!! Everyone who I have taken here has always had good things to say about it...how could you not! If you are ritzy or like those upper class type of places...this place is not for you...unless you like great pizza!!!

Not Bad – I just started a new job working in the downtown area and I've been on a quest to find the best Pizza in da Burgh. I ate at Mamma Lucia's today and I wasn't so much impressed but not disastisfied at all.

The people behind the counter seemed friendly and they seemed as if they were having a good time working there.

I had a thin slice of sausage and a thin slice of peperonni. The sausage was better than most places -- real italian sausage crumbled and with a bit of a kick. I also liked the sauce.

I did feel that the pizza was a bit on the greasy side though and I would have liked to have had a bit more sauce. But over all, not a bad pizza joint. I'd go back again.

New York style Pizza – Easily the best New York style pizza in the 'burgh! And, if that is not enough, their Sicilian is even better. Toppings are loaded on and enhance the taste of the pizza - I use the dinning room upstairs which is open during the lunch hour very cozy and hold 70 to 80 people

I Love this place!!! – Great service and food. This guy named Jesse is always on top of the napkin dispencers, so you'll never have to look far for something to wipe up with. The people are super awesome and the owner is a real cutie :)

Awsome Hogies!!!!!!!!!!! – They have great hogies and combo deals for an awsome price. They are fast and friendly. The inside is not fancy, but the food makes up for it. Great if you are on a budget or in a rush. You will be full and satisvied!

Good pizza fast if you find yourself in a hurry downtown. – The Scene
Mamma Lucia's is about eating and running--there is seating for about two dozen, but lunchtime crowds fill the place up fast. Better to call your orders in beforehand. Mamma Lucia's is centrally located for those working or shopping downtown, but be sure to look for the red awning, as it is easy to miss in the downtown mix.

The Food
Very good take-out pizza, especially whole pizzas. Sold by the slice, it comes out looking quickly thrown together. Toppings, somewhat standard in variety, are generous and prices are reasonable, especially for a downtown location. Try a hoagie if you want something easily wrapped and carried--the meatball hoagie is especially satisfying.

One More Thing
Orders can be placed online at www.food.com. Search for take-out restaurants in Pittsburgh with a 15222 zip code and you will find Mamma Lucia's under the results marked "M." Yes, the menu is available online, as are the daily specials.
