It's a diner alright. – I read the other reviews and frnkly I was appalled at the negative remarks that were made by others. I have never been there when the place was dirty or when the managment was nasty to the waitresses. We have always had good food, great service and a good time overall at Ritters. If it was bad as the others say would it still be around. Hell no! I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family. Cheap eats and a good time.

Gross and Mean – I went to Ritters for dinner one night. I had not been there in 20 years. It was beyond a doubt the worst place I ever been to in my life. Mean waitress, dirty, food was so bad that I left as fast as I could.

MOST DIRTY RESTAURANT AROUND!!!!! – We have been there and will NEVER EVER EVER return!!! black legged creatures were in our eggs and when we told and showed the waitress she just laughed and said it was free meat!!!! Never offered to take them away and make us new eggs nor offered to take it off our bill, TOTAL PIGS!!!!! FILTHY PIGS!!! Eat there if your trying to commit suicide.

best breakfast and homefries and waitresses – The wait staff is great you cant find another one like it. Genna is one of there cutest and funniest waitresses and she really knows what shes doing. You cant go anywhere else and find a family owned restaurant like this..... where else can go where you can eat great food and listen to your private jukebox at your table?

Worst customer/Restraunt relationship I have encountered – The management along with the waitress are the worst I have experinced. Waitress GENNA is oneof the rudes waitress I have met.

Great breakfast – Ritters in a saturday morning tradition. Good homecooked food, diner style. Great with friends or family. Nothing like good eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast to get you going in the morning.

Breakfast all day, bottomless cups of coffee, grandma waitresses and a unique jukebox. – The Scene
Walk in and be transported back to a time when three-egg omelets and gravy-covered meat loaf were considered high-class fare. Sixteen booths (12 smoking, four non-) and ample counter seating fill out the front room, with additional tables placed in a slightly more dressed-up back room. The music here is on your classic vinyl 45s, with about 70 artists on tap. The crowd is a grab bag of professionals, blue-collared locals, students and retired couples. In other words, everyone comes here.

The Food
Expect all the typical diner favorites like burgers and fries, meatloaf plates and breakfast 24 hours a day. The bagel breakfast sandwich is better than anything you'll find at a fast food joint. The pancakes are stacked high and the feta omelette is just the first of many Mediterranean-influenced offerings.

Nothing like cheap food late at night!! – Nothing beats this place if you're on your way home from the bar. It's a good stop off to sober up and get some food cheaply.

greasy spoon – Breakfast here is way overated. Yes it is cheap but I have been to Ritters on many occasions and I have never been able to get my eggs the way I order them. Also, the juke box has been gone for over 3 years. The owners have a terrible attitude and treat the waitresses like indentured employee's By far this is not one of the best places for breakfast in Pittsburgh

A great traditional greasy spoon! – Ritters no longer has the traditional aluminum "railroad car" style building, but the greasy spoon tradition is still alive and well in this popular diner. Excellent food at a good price, and quick seating even on crowded Sunday mornings. They can also accomodate large groups in their spacious and pleasant back room. Open 24 hours.
