My daughter has been taking lessons at Rogers Driving School since she received her permit. As a parent, I appreciated knowing that my daughter was being taught the right way to drive with expert teachers that she was always comfortable with. I'm proud to say that with the schools help she was able to pass her test the very first time. I will definitely recommend the school to my friends.
Folks, This is a pathetic driving school and my advise is to find some other and NOT go with this one. I'm very disappointed by the unprofessional behavior of the owner Tim. Here's my story...
I have >15 yrs of driving experience (India) and am pretty good at it. I have recently moved to the US and wanted to get a state drivers license. After getting my learners permit, I wanted to take a couple of professional driving lessons so that I can get accustomed to the little details of driving in the US and also get some useful tips. This is when I approached Rogers Driving School. I took two driving classes and they went well, perhaps because they weren't teaching me how to drive. The instructor never told me to use indicators while parallel parking or getting out of one. As a result, I didn't switch on the indicators during the test and the examiner failed.
My test center was Kittanning and I had also scheduled a 3hr driving window with the same school for $172, but after driving half way down to the center...the instructor (apparently the most experienced one...Bob) refused to take me there because it was too far. Apparently, Tim (the owner) had informed him that the test center was New Kensington. Luckily, I had a few colleagues who jumped in to save my day and took me to the test center and eventually I failed.
Whats worse is...the next day I called Tim (the owner) to speak about what happened and he responded in a very unprofessional manner. He refused to the fact that the instructor never told me about using the indicators (well, purely based on assumption) and also the fact that he was supposed to take me to Kittanning and not New Kensington. He hung up the phone on me even before I could convey my concerns.
PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS SCHOOL. THEY ARE TOTALLY USELESS AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Very good experience – I was surprised when I saw the two negative reviews for Rogers Driving School. That was not our experience at all. We live in Indiana Township and have used Rogers Driving School with each of our three children when they were learning to drive - most recently this spring. The instructor (Bob Graham) was always on time and patient in teaching our three children. He was able to give helpful tips for taking the driving exam as well as instructive on how to be a safe and responsible driver. I have recommended Rogers to my neighbors with teenage children learning to drive.
DO NOT USE! – 1st appointment did a no show! 2nd appointment, the man lost patience with my daughter and grabbed her hand and said, "No, put it there!" (on the wheel)The owner needs to retire, he cannot run a business and apparently subcontracts out to people who do not show and have no business teaching!
