poor customer service – The place is not even clean at all. Customer service is bad. I just don' t know anywhere else to go but I will definitely look around. I don't think they care about customer service anyway!
Definitely not the best shop in town! – I've used this shop many times, and have had a few problems: the length of my plants wasn't right, or when clothing was altered it didn't feel right. I kept using it until I had to take a pair of pants to be re-done and the lady, who's usually super busy and tending to 10 diff clients at the same time, was short and rude, after all the business I'd given them in the beginning.
Needless to say, I wasn't impressed, and vowed to not go back. Yes, it's hot, you have to be extra nice or get yelled at, and the service leaves a lot to desire. So, not the best shop in town at all.
Editorial Review – Union Square shop tailors suits and dresses, hems pants and denim with original hemline, replaces jacket liners and more.
Never Had A Problem – I have used Cable Car Tailors for many years. They re-lined a very expensive leather coat I have and it looks great. They resized several of my suits. They're usually very busy, because many people entrust them to do fine work. I've never had a problem wih them of any sort. I've paid a deposit up front, never the whole cost, and have always been happy wih the work.
Incompetent, ruined my expensive suit – This small, un-air conditioned shop is a rat race with the two tailors jumping from customer to customer taking very little time to pin clothing and make precise measurements. You have to pay in cash up front and I found out why when I returned. They completely messed up the vent on my expensive suit such that it's crooked and stretched. I argued with the tailor for 20 minutes that it didn't look right, but he wouldn't agree. Other tailors, who agreed that the suit was badly altered, could not repair the damage. Avoid this place at all costs!
