Great cheap sandwich spot. The pork sandwich is delicious with or without jalapenos.

The best sandwich you've never had. – Maybe you, like I, consider yourself a fan of sandwiches. Maybe even an expert on them. In all my sandwich hunting, I've never had a sandwich like this, and I'm hooked.
The combination of cilantro, jalepenos, and carrots is the magic ingredient, and the bread choice (mini bagutte thingie) was spot on. Naturally the $2.50 price tag is welcome, but the flavor is what will bring me back more often.
Be sure to investigate the interesting selection of imported canned beverages, and home-made desert beverages. I had one that was colorfully layered, and tasted like strawberry coconut, with tons of coconut meat and tapioca packed in. Like Vietnamese horchata...yum!
Highly recommended!

Cheap Delicious Sandwiches On-The-Go – Hello! The cramped sandwich shop two blocks from city hall has a line out the door. Walking by you might miss it but keep your eye open because for $2.50 you can get a french roll filled with roasted meat, shredded carrots & onions, jalepenos and cilantro. The spicy fresh taste with the sweet roasted meat is a mouth-watering combination. In addition to your sandwich you have a choice of various Vietnamese pastries, candies, snacks and other pre-packaged meals. Yeah, the line is long but the wait is short and well worth it. The three women that work there are fast and methodical. The shop is small so there's no where to sit but whether you work for the government or scrounged the money to eat, you can't lose.

Tasty sandwiches to go! – Rolls and fillings are tasty and most inexpensive. Neighborhood is iffy but not a problem at lunch time. It wouold be nice if they removed the stems from the cilantro.

Good Cheap Eat – This is a great place for nice little budget snack. Good sandwiches for $2.75 (combo). The place quite small so there's really no space to sit down and eat, which is not a bad thing considering that it's not the cleanest place. I still can't seem to figure out what all the ingredients are in the sandwich, but it's still a tasty eat. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the surroundings- not a whole lot to see, but for $2.75 a sandwich, I'd highly recommended this place.

Can't beat the price – Maybe the cheapest sandwich in town? For about $2.50, you totally have your lunch - and the sandwich is on this really NICE French roll - with your choice of meat, shredded carrots, hot peppers, and cilantro - with a tasty sauce. I leave off the hot pepper and cilantro and it is still good. Friendly service, with some other food options that look promising. Just don't go here if you're stuck on American-style sandwiches/food because this is NOT what they do. Cheers for an affordable sandwich!

a daily must have – You must get one of these sandwiches. Get the roast pork. I'm not crazy about the fancy pork, its sort of jellied.

So much for so little! – I just can't get enough of this place. I walked in at 11:30am on a Thursday and just barely beat having to stand in a long line. I saw that the sandwiches were priced at $2.50 (one was a quarter less and one was a quarter more), so I assumed that they had to be small so I got two. Now, for the larger American you might actually need two, but for a guy that eats moderately this six inch sandwich was stuffed with meat and other goodness. I definitely couldn't get through the second sandwich. You get your money's worth. The spring rolls are also made fresh daily and are delicious!

Vietnamese sandwiches headline at this Tenderloin storefront. – In Short
This tiny takeout spot is consistently jammed with a mix of Federal Building workers and in-the-know foodies who don't mind the divey surroundings. Banh mi, or Vietnamese sandwiches, are the only thing on the menu. Crisp-crusted French rolls are split and warmed, then stuffed with shredded carrots, onions, cilantro, jalapenos and diner's choice of five-spice chicken, roast pork, ham, pâté or pork loaf.

The best value for lunch/snack – At last, I have found a place where i absulutely LOVE the banh minh! The most expensive sandwichs are just $2.50 and they sure fill you up! Tried the siu mai, roast pork and a combination sandwich and they were all terrific! You HAVE to try their drinks too. The brown drink with longan and kombu(seaweed) was amazing! And it was so cheap! The only thing is the line, but not to worry, the two ladies will get to you in no time!
