Decent Italina food for an extravagant price – The food is good, the service is very good, the table size in the bar is ridiculously small, and the prices are unbelievably expensive! No salad is included with a $40 entree, you are charged $3.50 for an unbelievably thin slice of cheese with your side order salad and the cocktails were more ice than liquor. Overall, if you want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a meal that is good but not at all worth the money, this is your restaurant

Embarrassing Birthday Party Encounter – We went to Vallozzi's restaurant last evening for my 75th

Birthday. The food was superb, the wine was excellent and the wait staff was outstanding. It was an excellent Birthday experience. HOWEVER: As we were leaving, I was waiting for my lady friend when I noticed some small pieces of

chocolate laying on the service bar. I assumed they were

complimentary. (did I mention that I am 75 years old and had two glasses of wine)? The hostess raised her voice and said "Sir, you will have to pay for that" I said OK and figured that would take care of it. She asked me my name and started to look at her seating list. She asked my what I was doing ie. eating, waiting for a seat or just hanging around. She then told me not to leave until she checked the price and went to the lounge and bar area. After a few minutes my lady friend came up and said "are we ready" and I replied "not yet, I think I am under house arrest." The hostess

then returned with (I assume) a member of management. She proceeded to point me out to the manager by pointing at me and saying "there he is, that's the one" This was extremely embarrassing as

I was standing in the lobby, surrounded by other people.

The manager looked at me and the door and said "go ahead"

I will return to Vallozzi's and hope the hostess is off for the evening.

Over priced – We went to Vallozzi's restaurant last night. The menu seemed pricey, but we were all excited and awaiting good food. The staff was friendly, but it seemed to take a long time between courses. The Salad, which did not come with the entree was greens, green beans, black olives, & tomatoes. While tasty, not worth $5.75. My main course was Veal Parm. with Rigatoni, I received a hamburger sized patty on top of 10 rigatoni's. Coming in at a whopping $26.95, it was not worth it. My wife had wedding soup, again while tasty, not worth $7.00 for the portion size. She had Ravioli's, and 5 ravioli's are not worth $16.00. Our companions wanted wine, but again were swayed by the prices. $8.00 a glass or $40.00 a bottle. If you want to spend a lot of money, but leave hungry...Vallozzi's is your place!

Best Restaraunt in the West Pennsylvania Region – Vallozzi's is one the best restaraunts I have ever ate at, I would rank it only second to Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio in Vegas!! The atmoshphere is outstanding and service is top notch. Vallozzi's also has one of the most complete and sophisticated wine list's I have ever come across. The pizza is also amazing!!! If in the Greensburg area this restaraunt is a must.

OMG Great Italian Food – I was in town on business and when I travel I use Citysearch to show me the best restaurants, lodgings and amenities of the cities I visit. I read the editorial and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. The staff was attentive, the service was timely and the food. I can describe it as WOW!!! Thank you Vallozzi's I will recommend this to my fellow co-workers.

Mama still makes the gnocchi, but mostly, it's designer Italian fare in the heart of Greensburg. – The Scene
Imagine an Italian villa where five different dining areas exude individually eclectic but urbane ambience: The banquet room is capped by a parachute, while the lounge looks like a Mediterranean garden in which huge red lips and roses are painted on mirrored backdrops. Mingling amid these contrasting decors are executives with expense accounts and--on weekends especially--budget-breakers celebrating a special occasion. Owner and namesake Ernie Vallozzi has built on his mother's former gnocchi business and then some.

The Food
With almost every dish heavily bathed in butter and oils, diners best leave their dietary issues at the door. Chef Gina Mrdjenovich's flavorably fattening appetizers include an eight-inch crab-and-asparagus pizza appetizer that's worth the 15-minute wait, and a wedding soup that's a cut above the traditional. Although the cioppino (seafood stew) can be light on steakfish and heavy on potatoes, the steak filet--coupled with a lump of crabmeat--is a winningly overabundance of riches.
