Thanks Rose! – I would love to thank Rosie for my wonderful haircut.I love it and so did everyone I worked with as well as my family. Thanks again for my new do and I'll see you in November for a trim.
Excellent! – Rose is a stickler for service and I like that I can get in and out for a hair cut with out time being wasted. I also have my family and my dealerships on the Corporate Program. Another great thing about Rosie’s place is that it’s a full service salon.
Sheer incompetence, Rude, DO NOT RECOMMEND – I visited the salon for the first time for a consultation. Upon arriving for the consultation, I was told there was a $31 fee for the consultation, which I hadn’t been told prior. Regardless, I proceeded with the consultation with a “stylist”. I explained what I wanted/needed with regard to my hair and she seemed to have a good understanding. The owner, Rose, then came over and said for my highlights and lowlights it would normally be $85 but since my hair was a bit grown out it would be an extra $20 and the trim would be $38. Now, let me say that I have lived in large cities and had my hair done in some of the best salons on the East Coast, so while those prices are extremely high for Greensburg, PA I had grown accustomed to spending a lot of money on my hair and when she quoted those prices immediately in my head that put their salon and the stylist at a certain level of expertise, and I believed I was paying commensurate with their skill. HAH, but I’m getting ahead of myself. At that point, the owner, Rose, said that they would waive the consultation fee if I decided to have my hair done right then. I was surprised they would be able to take me on such short notice, but I agreed and the stylist proceeded to do my hair. Hindsight is 20/20, but some red flags definitely went up as I was having my hair done that led me to believe I may have misjudged the caliber of the Allante salon: 1, staff was not welcoming or courteous; 2, salon was messy and unkempt; 3, the stylist washed my hair before my highlights (never had that done) and used FREEZING cold water to wash my hair; 4, stylist stopped in the middle of cutting my hair twice, once to answer the phone and another time to bring someone a pumice stone because she was apparently giving a more important client a pedicure so it was okay for the stylist to leave me. So, after the stylist was finished trimming my hair she begins to blow dry. Now, I’ve never been to beauty school and I’m not a cosmetologist, but even I know you’re supposed to blow dry the hair downward to smooth the cuticle. The stylist was blowing my thick, coarse, wavy hair all over creation. Before I left with a full-on frizzy, puff ball I stopped her and said that I would dry it out myself when I got home. Well, when I did get home and went to section my hair to straighten it I noticed white horizontal lines of bleached hair all over my head, but the most noticeable directly across the top of my head. Okay, so I am fuming. I did not just pay $155 for this. This is complete incompetence. It’s after hours, so I called Allante the next morning and Rose told me to come in so she could see what I was talking about. So, I go back to Allante and Rose can plainly see the bleach lines and spots all throughout my hair. Then she says that the same stylist is going to fix it, which surprises me and retrospectively I should have refused this but I still was buying into the whole “master stylist” BS so I let herdo it. So, two hours later, more damaging chemical processes done to my hair, suffering through her horrendous blow drying, and guess what… the bleach line across the top of my head is still there. I was livid. And I was not even offered a refund, not even for the color. I was offered 20% off my next visit. As politely as I could, mainly because I had my young son with me, I said that I appreciated the offer but would not be back so they could just take that amount off of what I already paid. So, as my father would say, “That’s the price you pay for dealing with a$$holes.” Lesson learned. I will not ever go to Allante again, nor would I recommend that place to anyone. Their incompetence is matched only by the ignorance. ZERO STARS, but I had to give one to publish this!
Definitely agree with the post about the dogs, too. Same experience - unsanitary and unprofessional.
I am the stylist that did your service. From what you said, you have jumped from salon to salon and have not found one to fit your hair needs.I'm sure your service wouldve gone more smoothly and accurately had I not had to attend to your young child the entire time.I myself have children and I do not force them to sit around establishments on the assumption they will behave. As for doing the highlights on damp hair, that is not an uncommon practice and is used for partings. When I was rough drying I was getting the air flowing through for a faster dry and volume preparing it for a smooth blow out and flat iron.As far as the dogs are concerned, they were put in the office the entire time you were here. We called twice and offered for Rose to make your hair exactly as you wanted it for FREE,with no return call from you.We are one of the best rated Salons in the area and our prices are a reflection of that.Your consultation fee was waved when you received the service.Good luck to you.
UNPLEASANT PLACE – when i first walked into the salon with my 4 year old son, we were rudely greeted by 2 little yappy dogs which i thought was not only unprofessional, but unsanitary for a salon and spa. so i proceeded to fill out some paperwork as i sat in their waiting room where on the wall was a picture of a naked man. i understand they're considered upscale but really? so with all doubts set aside, i was given a tour and as the tour went on i saw how cheesey and tacky the place was. i saw wax all over their waxing machines, the manager's station had barbicide (supposed to be clean to disinfect the combs and brushes) which had hair floating all through it and way too many combs to fit another in the container. i also had a wax done and i had noticed it was cloth like a bed sheet. so did they wash and reuse?! i also noticed they didn't throw their color gloves or caps away but put them into the hamper instead. the makeup brushes looked like they hadn't been washed out properly or anything in quite awhile. the pedicure and manicure rooms had reused calus removers, files, and there was a ring of grimey stuff around the pedicure chair bowl. the manager was very rude to her employees, she swore to at them and she swore around clients, i heard the "F" word thrown around like it was nothing while my 4 year old sat in the other room. the dogs bowls were right next to her cutting chair and makeup station and just ran around as they pleased. now i am an animal lover, but they have no place in an upscale salon. her other employees were super nice and friendly so i have no idea how they put up with her. i would be ashamed to work at this place. i had my cosmo license and went through school and although i chose a different career, i see the place as being unsanitary and unprofessional. and during my conversation with Rose Marie, she had mentioned she taught at a beauty school so she knows what is right and wrong. i have been to my fair share of salons and never have i seen something so unprofessional and unsanitary. i was not impressed at all with the place at all. i will not be coming back.
Here at Allante' we strive to create a clean and pleasant atmosphere for clients and employees. We have NEVER failed a state inspection. There is good reason Rose Marie has been a stylist for 30 years and has a thriving business. This is nothing more than an attempt to slander Rose Marie and Allante by a disgruntled former employee. If you have any doubts.....Please stop in and see for yourself.
Best Yet – Hello. I visited your salon for the first time on July 23, 2010. Since I recently lost 40 pounds, I wanted a new look. When I walked into Allante Hair Design and Spa, I had no idea what I wanted done to my hair. Maggie gave me suggestions and options as to what would look good for the shape of my face. After getting
highlights, a designer cut and professional makeup application, I felt like a completely new person. My hair cut looked great and was simple enough that I could do at home. The ladies (Maggie, Rose Marie and Tracy) were very welcoming, took me on a tour of the salon and shared with me the services they offer. I want to thank Maggie for taking such good care of me and look forward to my next visit to Allante Hair.
Great Wax – Was very nervous for my first waxing, but the staff made me feel comfortable. The experience was as "painless" as possible. I would highly recommend this salon to all my friends. Can't wait to try out the other services they offer.
First Time Customer, Loved It! – I had my very first appointment and came out feeling wonderful. Great cut and color! Rosie told me how to style my hair and what products to use. I look almost as good today as last night when I walked out the door. Great experience!
Top-Notch Service! – First, I need to tell you that I love my hair again. The color, cut, and tips and styling tricks you gave me were top-notch and have helped me to maintain the look I want. In all honesty, I've never paid that much for cut and color before, but also being honest, the cut you gave me is the best cut I've had in years, if not in my whole life. Thank you.
Awesome Service!! – Rose is a stickler for service and I like that I can get in and out for a hair cut with out time being wasted. I also have my family and my dealerships on the Corporate Program. Another great thing about Rosie’s place is that it’s a full service salon.
New Do. New Name. New Lifelong Customer. – I visited Allante Hair after receiving a gift certificate from my best friend. I was desperate to have my hair colored back to its natural color, have a few subtle highlights added and I really needed a new hair "do."
When I left Rose later that afternoon I felt better than I had in years. I had that "feeling" you get when you have on the perfect outfit and you feel 10
pounds thinner...she made me look and feel great. Not only did I love the hair but my boyfriend and MOTHER all loved it. You know something is great when your mother even loves it!
I constantly get compliments on how great my hair looks and have even gotten a new nickname with my friends "pretty hair girl."
Thanks Rose for an amazing job...you now have a customer for life!
