I am extremely disappointed with this store. MB Bride's very own staff measured me for a bridesmaid dress, and when I went to pick it up it was most definitely too small. I could just barely get it zipped, and they kept telling me that it fit just right! I can't even sit down in it. The girl kept rudely arguing with me and then finally agreed that it was too small. She then told me to not worry, she would take care of it. By taking care of it, she meant that I would have to pay for alterations.
I read other reviews complaining of issues with sizing and customer service. This would have stopped me from going there, but it was the bride's decision so I didn't mention it to her. I wish I would have. I would never go there for anything again, and would most certainly not recommend them on grounds of poor customer service and a lack of competence and standing by their work!
Not for plus size – Went to the store, first look nice layout by designer unless you wear larger than a 12. Then you get to shop from a wall of all designers combined for you to search through. I wrote a letter advising of the feeling it made to a customer and received an extremely unprofessional letter back that I could try on a 6 or 8 and order the size I wanted. How would I know if I can't get 2 legs in a size 6? Thenthey proceed to send me another persons review of how wonderful they were. Not my experience. No one dedicated to work with me and I don't like shopping from a pile of dresses that I get to rummage through. Very rude, unprofessional, and horrible customer service. Would recommend to anyone I care about to stay away from this store.
M & B Bride Bid Disappointment – Please save your money and time. Only friendly the first visit and after that you are on your own. No return calls and no assistance once the first payment is made. I was measured by a girl that was either in high school or fresh out and I was told I needed a dress three sizes bigger..Oh I wish I wouldnt allowed them to order me that dress!!! It didnt fit the day of the wedding and all of the bridesmaids including me were pulling r dresses up the entire day!!! This was after I paid an extra 70 dollars to have it altered there!!! SCAM!!! On the final pick up they dont bother telling u what u are signing but its a release saying the gown was perfect and blah, blah...Look out for that!! If I wouldnt of signed I would be fighting for my money back! I will never go there again or recommend them to anyone for anything!!
Although I have to say the girl that checked me out was very sweet and friendly her name was Ashley..So if u do have to shop there look for her! Good Luck!
Be prepared for let downs – Similar to the other reviews the experience started off great - I'm the mother of the bride so I'm writing the review from how I have seen the "sale" unfold. When we arrived (there were just three of us, me and my two daughters) we were assigned to work with Lisa. She was helpful and very attentive, etc. Like the other review, the manager and even someone who does alterations stopped down to see my daughter when she made her final selection and everyone seemed so helpful and caring. We left feeling good about the day. My daughter ordered the dress that same day (which was sometime in August I believe) for a June wedding. Come December we still had not heard back on delivery confirmation so my daughter called and was told "oh yes, your dress has been here - we have a note we called you" - well with cell phones these days it's pretty hard to not see a call placed to you, so we'll let that one go. We went back in December because my daughter needed assurance that they had indeed ordered the correct dress. On our second visit, we had to try to get their attn. Lisa was there but was really less interested in helping - she hung the dress up, said she'd be right back, and disappeared for a good 30 minutes or so. We left that appointment feeling like "wow, they have our money, so basically they don't care anymore"... both me and my daughter (the bride) both said this as we were walking to the car. Unfortunately we also ordered the Bridesmaids dresses there - all of the girls are from out of town except for one, so I called about a month ago and they have a phone number on the receipt that you call to leave your name, brides name, receipt conf # or something similar and someone is "supposed" to get back to you - No one returns the call even to give you any indication of if the order is on time, running behind, there on site, etc. My daughter called today - Dresses were ordered by all in January, it's now almost mid April and at first there was no response - so my daughter called back - the person she spoke with was less than courteous or helpful. This overall rating is low because they do a terrible job at customer service after the sale and I cannot figure out why since it seems to be a small town shop - you would want to believe that they actually care about their reputation. ??
Terrible – This was a miserable experience and completely ruined prom for me!! Don't get me wrong, the dresses were plentyful and beautiful and came in alot of sizes, but the staff (especially Kate) were rude and unhelpful. When I did find a dress I wanted and was told by Kate that i could have, but when i came the next day to put a down payment on it a differnet sales woman told me that someone in my school already had the dress so they couldnt sell it to me. I was lied to by a sales person from there, and they did nothing to make it better. I was terribly upset, and wouldnt suggest anyone shop there!
Helpful and kind staff – I thought MB Bride was fantastic. I went to MB Bride on Sunday after a disastrous experience at another bridal store in the Pittsburgh area. Lisa, my consultant, was awesome. She helped me with customizations to place through the manufacturer and the Manager, Debbie, was on hand to assist with measurements and checked in toward the end of my appointment to approve the design to ensure that the description aptly described the details of the wedding gown. My consultant spent a ton of time with me, i.e., I was there from 12:00 until 3:15 p.m., and she was excited about helping me customize the gown as was the Manager, Debbie. The service was great. The store placed my order to the Manufacturer the very next day and called me to let me know the customizations had been approved and that they would be in touch every step of the way so that I would be involved in the process. MB Bride knew that after my bad experience at another store, I just wanted to go some place where the staff would be nice to me and be excited for me. I can't say enough nice things about MB Bride.
Not really a professional bridal shop – Ordered mother of the groom dress months before the event. 3 weeks before the ceremony, we were presented with a plastic bag, which contained, yup, the gown. Kinda scrunched up in that bag. Would have been appropriate had it said Wal-Mart. Anyway we saw the ordered gown at the same exact moment that the 'advisor' did. Surprise ! It had 3 very obvious defects. Even the 'Manager' agreed. So, "send it back, have a new one soon". Wedding in 3 weeks, mind. No call the next week, so we call, were told that we might have a replacement in 2 more weeks, but Hey ! They might pay for the alterations. At this point, money is useless. Need a dress. So, they did return our deposit. Now frantic shopping for a replacement from a professional shop. Lesson learned ? If you really really really have to buy from these country bumpkins, ask them to take the item out of the bag and look at it before you travel in for a fitting, Maybe, just maybe, they would present it to you on a hanger as if they were really proud ot it. Me, I'm saving up old Wal-Mart bags for them. Seems to be the only marketing strategy they understand. Tears on my pillow...........
This store stressed me out! – As a bride, I was very disappointed by this store.
On three occasions, I called ahead to make sure they had a dress I had seen online. Each time I was assured they did -- made an appointment, drove in from out-of-state, and never did get to see the dress.
Even with an appointment, I had to wait, was ignored by my consultant and was shooed out of a dressing room once my time for the day was up. My maid of honor was told to hang and replace each dress I tried on and didn't like.
I know other people had better consultants and were successful in finding a dress they loved at MB Bride. Unfortunately, my experience soured me and my family and friends.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE, GO ELSEWHERE! – I ordered my wedding dress, BM dresses, and guys tuxes through MB Bride. First off it too 5 months for my dress to come in, and they never called me to tell me it or my BM dresses were in I had to call them! Then I go for my dress fitting a month before the wedding to find out they had ordered me the wrong dress! I was livid and yelling. The manager said, this is the dress on the order, (mind you they do it all by numbers so you don't know if it is correct or not) but the girl I had worked with who placed the order came up and said that was not the dress I had ordered. The manager didn't seem like she had time to deal with my very BIG issue, and the seamstress was more caring then the manager! They ended up getting me a dress that was a size too big and I had to have it altered down. When I went for my final fitting I had tons of beads missing, and I had to wait to have the seamstress sew new ones back on. One of my BM had fitting issues, and another had problems with alterations. My guys tuxes came in with parts that didn't fit. My father-in-law's shirt didn't fit and he was told they may not be able to get him one in time! They are very slow at answering calls and when I called about all my issues neither the owner or any other person working there would call me back! DO NOT GO TO MB BRIDE!!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER – I saw their website and thought I would give them a try because of their selection of bridesmaid dresses. We drove from Pittsburgh and thats like an hour drive! I was WRONG. When ordering their dresses and they were getting sized it took about a half an hour for someone to greet us. They are way understaffed and have BAD attitudes. Their manners are also awful between talking to you with a wod of gum in her mouth to another girl looking at you like you are an idiot. A week later I called about the last dress (all my bridesmaids have different dresses) when they told me they had no record of me or my bridesmaids, here they spelled my name and 3 of my 5 bridesmaids completely wrong. Then you think you are getting a good deal with the alterations, well if you already ordered the dress take it and RUN! Every single one of my bridesmaid dresses were TRASHED, from being taken in too much to the hem being too short. And it's not like these were $50 dresses, they were between $150 to $225! Save time and aggravation, go somewhere else. There are too many other things to worry about regarding your big day bad customer service, rude attitudes, and mistakes regarding the bridesmaids dresses should mot be one of them!
