I chose Mountain View Pediatrics for my daughter before she was born. She is now three and a half years old. I find their practice extremely unprofessional. Although the concept of many doctors in one practice having similar ideas, that is untrue. Although I chose one specific doctor for my child, when in an emergency, you must take the doctor that is available. Each time we go there we are told a completely opposite idea from each doctor. The nursing staff is less than friendly to say the least and never interact with my child. A warm smile from a nurse for a sick child could go a long way. They have what you think would be a wonderful system of sharing knowledge through the computer so every doctor is on the same page. NOT TRUE! Every time I go in I have to share with them what medications my child is allergic to because no one takes the time to write it in the computer!!!! What would happen if my mother had to take my child in for a visit and did not mention the medications she is allergic to? That information should be in the computer already!!!! The thing that sent me over the edge was the unprofessionalism of one specific doctor when I took my child there to address eating issues she was having. Let me mention here that she has had them since she was 18 months old and I have addressed it with them since that time. Many doctors...MANY times! Bet you couldn't guess.... IT WASN'T IN THE COMPUTER! This specific doctor dared to get into an argument with me stating that I had never addressed this issue! The nerve she had to tell me as a mother that I did not address these concerns!!!! My daughter was hospitalized when she was 18 months old for this issue! I was also told by this doctor that I was to be in 100% control of not only the eating habits of my child at my house, but her father's house and my mother's house. Really? I took my daughter for blood work on December 27th as ordered and as of today, January 11, 2014, I have yet for them to contact me to have a follow up to review the results. And yes, I have called multiple times. In the time since the blood work, my daughter also fell and hit her head. It was recommended by the ER doctor to have a follow up with her pediatrician. That was a joke! They never call you back in a timely manner. By the time I received a call it was two days after she was to have a follow up. By that time it was irrelevant! Needless to say, we are going elsewhere.
I have three kids, have lived in Ligonier for 12 years and have always been treated extremely well by Mountain View Pediatrics. In my background of flying air ambulance and working in the State Emergency Services in Australia, it is my honest opinion that the staff here are some of the best in the world!
A bad, bad practice – I moved to this area three years ago and had to find a practice for my three kids. I chose Mt. View because it was close to their school and home. I have yet to have a pleasant time there and I am now in the process of finding a new family doctor. My son had a fever of 103 and yet we had to wait 35 minutes the other day. The next day my other son was sick and I called to see if the could just call in anitbiotics for my other son-so I didn't have to drag three kids into the germ factory, but no. Needless to say, that was it. I am so done with Mt. View.
Waiting time abominable/Ultra conservative group – The waiting time at Mt. View Pediatrics is nothing less than horrific - especially when your child is SICK! We are always at least 20 minutes up to 45 minutes in the waiting room and at least another 1/2 hour to 45 minutes waiting in the examining room. All of the doctors in this practice are ultra conservative. They refuse to call in any medications without seeing the child first, even for known cases of recurrent UTIs/ear infections/sinus infections. I absolutely DETEST their rude, curt, disinterested office staff. GOOD LUCK with this group. You'll need it.
