Arnold Palmer Dr, Latrobe, PA | Directions 1565040.276711 -79.383062
Arnold Palmer's signature country club in the hills of old Latrobe is still his favorite place to fine tune his game. – The Scene
This 18-hole private course features carpet-like fairways and greens and more than its share of elevation changes. Thin, tree-lined fairways force the wary golfer to place a premium on accuracy off the tees. The course, constantly reworked by Arnie, is a thinking golfer's paradise.
Memorable features include a three-tiered green on No. 18 that adjoins a portion of the practice green, a road that crosses the first and last holes and a cobblestone stream that meanders through four holes on the back nine.
It's a tie. The 210-yard par-3 10th is nicknamed "The Rolling Rock." Take 33 paces up to the championship tee box and enjoy the view. The 509-yard par-5 3rd was scaled back from one of the most demanding par-4s in the area. The hole doglegs to the right around a charming lake and fountain.
From The Caddie
At 6,028 yards from the white tee markers, forget about the muscle and concentrate on the finesse.
