A lodging staple with just the basics for budget-minded road-trippers and business travelers. – In Short
Since the Ramada brand made its debut in 1954 in Flagstaff, Ariz., the hotel franchise has been offering dependable accommodations at wallet-friendly prices. Good for travelers who don't require a restaurant or lounge in their hotel, Ramada Limited offers amenities like a complimentary light breakfast, in-room data ports and voice mail. Families on a budget appreciate the kids-stay-free policy for children 17 and under staying with their parents.
I certainly hope it's "Limited" – Upon checking in, we were informed our room was across a four lane street. Looking eerily like a CSI prop locale for a recent shooting, this Ramada room did little to convince us they have "recently renovated." There were dark holes in the curtains and carpeting which failed to invite a soothing night's sleep. To take our minds off of all that we switched on the tv. It hummed a little, but there was never a picture or audio. Though clean in the areas that count, our room did nothing to persuade us that this Ramada should be anything but Limited, if not put out of its misery altogether. The only saving grace was breakfast. Situated in what looked to be a converted cafe there was plenty of variety compared to the usual fare available in a continental breakfast. Parking was free on a first come, first served basis.
