I have been going to Marinello's school for about 5 years. I consider it a very good deal for the price. I usually get just a style cut for $5, and it has always been good. It's double that or more anywhere else.
I'm not the norm for a man's haircut. I don't like the traditional square neck hairline done in the back to finish the cut. Sometimes, the students have to try several times to get it right, but they usually succeed. Most of the time, they are pleasant and willing to keep trying. If they can't do it, the instructor will.
It's unfortunate that some reviewers got poor service on the phone, or a student made a mistake. Accidents and bad days happen, but not everyday.
My only gripe is that an appointment is usually necessary. In the past, like many haircutting schools, you could usually just drop in and get a cut within 20 minutes wait. Most times, I can get a same-day appointment.
The new school location on Market St. is very new and attractive. City Search needs to correct the listing to 1035 Market St., btwn 6th & 7th.
not worthy of ANY customers – C*mbucket trains her youngin posse all the necessities to wait as long as possible as acid burns the cornea of a client and decides it's not a good idea to call paramedics until distressed client asks where is the medical personel?, why wasn't that an ASAP action?
Ending ended with wet, damaged, half done hair and myself being "disrespectful" for acid dripping into my eye.
Worst hair school in San Francisco! – I made an appointment to have a coloring and a cut done a week in advance. They were very friendly on the phone and made an appointment to have it done all in one day. When I got to the school, they told me that a coloring test was required and that they could not do anything for twenty four hours. The receptionist was rude and unapologetic. She said that they always do color tests, however, no one told me on the phone when I made the appointment. She did not seem to care at all about how much of an inconvenience they caused me. I do not recommend this place toanyone. If the staff reflect the type of work they do, then this place is a disaster.
Editorial Review – Concerned about what a $10 haircut may look like? There's nothing to worry about at this Mission cosmetology school offering discounted services by students (under supervision, of course).
