poor customer service – I was their customer at first. If you want to buy Chanel, you go to Chanel Boutique. Well, not so good experience. The first 2 bags i bought were fine. The third one with the same sale associate, she gave me a dirty one (spots on the bottom). The bag (medium 2.55 beige lamb skin) cost 2,250 plus tax and it's looked dirt cheap??? No, so I took it back, she made a big fizz and said it was the last one in the country, take it or not? I was not satisfy with the bag, yet I didn't want to hurt her feeling. So I exchange to the more expensive one (modern chain E/W tote) cost 2,895 plus tax. Still she wouldn't give me its box, said that it's big and it's down stir. She made me felt like I bother her too much so i left without its box. I went back again aiming to get a white ceramic watch (J12), at first i was so relive she was not there that day. I hoped to get a better service but what a nightmare, another sale person = another terrible experience. How come they are all so rude, doesn't Chanel have customer service training to these people in SF. They are acting like they are so rich, so elegant, so high class themselves, like no one else. Enough is enough, I walked across the street to Neiman Marcus. Signed up for a membership, got the discount, collected the point benefits and started shopping my Chanel there. Ever since 2006, I've never look across the street to that paint store again. Then till Now, my closet fills/ is full with Chanel collections.
Disappointing Tacky Tourist Trap – I wanted to buy a Chanel suit so I went to the Chanel store. Where else? I was surprised that the San Francisco flagship store had dirty beige carpet. I have been to Chanel stores in New York, and the St John store in Palm Springs, and they never had dirty carpet. How can one item of clothing cost $4000 and the store has well-worn, stained carpets leading all the way to the top? That is not the Chanel shopping experience. Worse, they carried very little inventory, and every jacket I pointed they "didn't carry my size" (36) and I had to get on a wait list with phone number,etc. They claim the suits are so custom and my size was so popular that they only carried one suit per month or something and one had to wait forever and maybe one would get a call and have the privilege of buying one. I wanted a suit right away. I did give the sales person my number and it's been 4 weeks and no call. But GUESS WHAT? I went to the Chanel store inside Neiman Marcus right after I went to the Chanel store. Not only did they carry everything my size, I bought my suit right away on the SPOT. (Custom alternations took 2 weeks more.) So if you guys want to buy Chanel clothing, don't bother with the rubbish flagship store. It's just for tourists who want to buy accessories, not for serious Chanel customers.
I expected a lot more – I went into the Chanel Boutique with my mother looking for a handbag. We were both dressed very very nicely (both of us in Chanel sunglasses, mind you) and I am 21, not 12. The salespeople helped my mother but not myself at all. They looked at me like I couldn't possibly need their help since I was so young. I ended up buying my bag elsewhere.
