Making an appointment makes a world of difference – I went to davids Bridal on Nov 14, 2011. I was running late for my appointment called they were really nice about me being late. From the moment i stepped in the door i was happily greeted and helped.A quick form to fill out. I was informed about special services like photoghraphy and tux rental and discounts on all the services if I purchased through them. The orignal bridal consultant they had scheduled was runnign late with another bride. I got Beth .. she asked alot of questions really listened ( one thing....she was still helping another party). they pulled all my dresses ! Big bonus they actually had all the ones i wanted to try on! Prices were reallly cheap. I liek to add i went to the Alfred angelos in whte hall the experience was awful. Davids service was great.
Do not let all the negative reviews ruin your experience! – I went to David's Bridal on Saturday August 13 with my Sister, her daughters, my daughter and my niece's future sister in law and future mother in law. I have to say that the experience was very nice. My niece had a 10 am appointment. She had already seen several dresses on line. Our consultant, Salwa, got those dresses plus a few others that were close to the one that she liked. She had her find her shoes, and got the slip, strapless bra, etc. She assisted my niece with all of her dresses. She picked the first dress which was the one she really loved. Then Salwa got the brides maid dress book and let the girls see what was available. They then found the dresses on the racks. They found one that looked good on all four of the young ladies that are her attendants. My sister was also able to find dresses for the flower girls as well. So in a little over two hours, the bride had her dress, my sister took it home with her. The bride maids and flower girls all had their dresses ordered. Will let you know in the future if there are any problems with fittings, etc. But today was a wonderful experience for everyone.
So Far So Good – I visited Davids Bridal today. It was the first time I was trying on any wedding dresses. I also had a few of the bridesmaids along so that they could try on as well. Although I didn't have an appointment they were very friendly & welcoming and I received a personable sales associate. She took the list I had made (looked online prior to arriving so I had an idea of what I wanted). She told me to look for a pair of shoes to ware while she gathered my dresses, bra, & slip. She was kind enough to allow my mother-in-law to be in the dressing room to help me change (I'm not too big into changing in front of strangers). She was very helpful with pointing out things that would look good with my body type. While I was trying on a few, she started gathering from my list the bridesmaids dresses. She told me of the ones they didn't have in stock and of the ones that wouldn't come in the color I had chosen. She found sizes that were close to my bridesmaids and if they were too big she pinned them up so they would fit close to appropriatly.
I have to say for my first time there an after reading some of the horrible reviews on here I was plesently suprized!
Awful experience – Unfortunately I went against advice I was given, went to David's Bridal and fell in love with a dress! The sales lady that helped me pick out my dress was wonderful, after that day, nothing but a nightmare. First they measured me, the dress came in and didn't fit, they told me that I should have ordered 4 sizes bigger! They would have loved for me to pay those alteration fees. One more size prolly would have done it, but I assumed they knew what they were doing. They did alterations and added a corset back to the dress, I went to pick it up, it was too big, the dress was lop sided from their 'hemming' and there was a black stain on the dress! There alteration pricing is ridiculous, the alterations ladies are usually rude and the cashier that I had to deal with everytime I was there was rude! The customer care/service there is horrible!

horrible experiance!!!!!!!! – I originally went to Davids Bridal for a fitting, because I was ordering on of their online dresses. I noticed that the girl who was doing my measurements did them completely the wrong way. I went elsewhere, and got the correct measurements. If I had followed the sizes she had given me I would have ended up with a dress 2 sizes too big!!!
I recieved the dress, and the dress was wonderful, I love it, however it was too large around the bust. It is a strapless dress, style BR1000.
I went in for my alterations appointment, I figured as long as I didn't get the same girl that measured me it couldn't be that bad, right?
Reyna, the alterations manager, was the person who was supposed to do alterations on my dress. I put it on, and explained that the bust was too big and needed to be taken in, and she repeatedly argued with me that I didn't want it taken in, what I wanted was a bra with more lift.
She said "I see you, you keep pulling the dress up there." to which I explained "Yes, because it is too big and keep falling down!"
She had me try on another bra, and still said that what I wanted was lift, and told me she would take the dress in because it wouldn't give me the lift I wanted!!!
I left, and took my dress to Bridals by Carol in Northampton - and the wonderful lady there had me try it on, and right away knew what I was tlaking about. She walked in and said "Oh, all you need is for the bust to be taken in 2 inches." AND she was by far cheaper than Davids Bridal!
Skip Davids Bridal, they are just too much of a headache!
Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply. – In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
David's-AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – HORRENDOUS!!! I would never reccomend stepping foot into this store!!! Very impersonal and inconsiderate. A wedding should be way too important for the hassels and lack of responsibility this store takes for their part in making this day special.
I wasn't thrilled when my friend decided to get her dress there, as I previously had a not so great experience at the one in Plymouth Mtg. just trying dresses on, where the salesperson was extremely insulting. However, the bride was on a tight budget it seemed to be the most economical going in. However, the ads are really just to bait you in, as it really could have been done for the same price on a much more personal level in a local bridal shop. The original experience felt like a factory although the sales girl was attentive, and although we thought that just buying silver shoes at Payless would have worked, the sales girl assured us shoes they had could be dyed to match perfectly. We chose Truffle (more of a brown)dresses with rhinestone broach, however the shoes (which we of course had to pay for before being dyed) came out very obviously purple. They very clearly do not match the "truffle" color of the dresses. When we approached the manager she said they use a truffle formula, but can't control how they turn out, so too bad. We were never even offered an apology or anything. So, we now have brown dresses and purple shoes. I must say they were very helpful trying dresses and making suggestions up to the point where they took our money, and then it was you're on your own and too bad for any issues after that. Several of us have contacted hq via e-mail and phone leaving messages that have gone unreturned.
I have been in 6+ weddings, where all but this one we ultimately purchased our dresses from local bridal shops, and would take a less expensive/elaborate dress if need be in exchange for the personal care and concern all of the other shops provided over David's any day.
