Tips for Magnolias
I'll be Back. My family went to magnolias on Fathers Day for Brunch this year, it was really good. A different kind of Brunch menu...plus some large entrees were offered as specials. My dad had Filet Mignon topped with crabmeat & a mushroom sauce, he loved it. And I had Shrimp Wellington from the regular Brunch Menu. that was pretty good. They had live Music during Brunch--a jazz soloist---he was AMAZING! we're heading back next month just to see him again! I think I'll get the French Toast next time, though.
OUR OFFICE XMAS DINNER 2009.
Our group of 8 thought the menu selection was limited and unappealing. Several thought the appetizer selections looked tastier then the entrees. 15 minutes after we sat down a music duo started up about 20 feet away and played so loud that we couldn't talk to each other. We complained and the staff made a spot for us in another room, but it took about 1/2 hour. Service in general took forever. We like a slow dinner, but we got there at 7pm and left at 10:30.
The waitress messed up 2 entrees. My tuna appetizer was tasteless. The coconut shrimp was overdone and tasteless. Most of our group left vowing never to return.
We used to love this restaurant under the previous owner. We don't love it anymore. We were there on a Friday night and noted that it wasn't that busy. Now we know why.
FIVE STARS!. We visited Magnolia's last week to celebrate my husband's birthday on Oct. 5 2007. We had a great time and were very surprised to find such an upscale and sophistocated restaurant off the beaten path. The menu was creative and interesting and the food deliciou.Tthe place is beautiful and very well maintained, love the colors! Service was also extremely good, the server was able to answer our questions on the menu items with a great deal of detail -- hardly ever get that! Can't wait to go back again, lots of things to try.
