I was sick and tired of the substandard services received from big box beauty salons, so I decided to splurge for the holidays and made an appointment at Richard Kroll Total Image. When making the appointment I told the receptionist that I was interested in going from light blonde to a natural light brown, but I had a decent amount of regrowth. She informed me that this would not be a problem and she would schedule extra time for a consultation.
When I arrived at the salon I was pleasantly greeted by the staff and introduced to Nicole, the stylist who would be doing my hair. I immediately told her that I was concerned about going from light to dark and would not mind making the transition over the course of several appointments. Nicole confidently told me that it was not difficult to do this and that she could accomplish the job in one visit. Everything was going fine at this point. The atmosphere was nice and the salon was clean. They offered me a glass of water and made small talk while I waited for the color to process, however, my experience took a drastic turn for the worse.
Nicole finished my hair cut and then asked another stylist to blow dry and style. When she was finished drying and styling my hair, I noticed that there were horizontal, multicolored stripes across both sides of my head. Furthermore, I noticed that the cut was uneven and poorly layered. At this point, two more stylists get involved and try to fix the cut. Finally, Nicole comes over and apologizes. She explained that she had another client come in for an up-doo. Nicole accessed my zebra stripped hair and told me that the color bled.
Finally the owner, Richard, got involved and tried to fix the so called "bleeding." Richard's attempt to fix the problem helped a little, but I was still left with zebra stripes across my head and a bad cut. Richard informed me that all of their services have a two-week guarantee. He also said that he did not want to over process my hair and I should come back if the stripes don't wash out in a couple of days. I left the salon feeling bamboozled after paying two hundred and fifty dollars for such terrible services.
As luck would have it, my zebra stripes did not wash out and I had to go back into the salon for a redo. Nicole assured me there would be no charge and explained how bad she felt for my experience. Interestingly, the redo went very well. Nicole did a great job by fixing the color and even perfected the cut. I was feeling really good at this point. In fact, I was thinking about writing a great review about how Richard Kroll and his staff professional worked together as a team to solve problems, while maintaing a high level of client service.
Unfortunately, my perception instantly changed when Richard and his wife tried to charge me another fee. Richard's wife explained that I was being charged for the blow dry and styling. At this point I decided to stand up for my self and put an end to Richard's unethical extortion. I firmly told Richard's wife that I would not be paying additional money for their mistakes and left the salon feeling puzzled over Richard's dishonest business practices. At a glance, Richard comes across as a savvy businessman who understands the importance of customer centricity and a good reputation; however, trying to extort additional money from a client who already had a bad experience is not an ethical way to run a business. Moreover, I would not recommend Richard Kroll Total Image salon to anyone and would never go back.
Im soooo pissed. Im a mixed . So you just can't give me a color that I definitely didn't want but suggested that the color that was in my hair the best fit for my complexion. I can't belie ve the owner snuck in an extra $ 75 fee for color. All together $225. For what. You can't just blow out my hair and straight it with an iron then send me off into the hot humid air. At the end of the day I looked the same as I did when I woke up.$225 , shoot I should've got free products for that price. Back to the Dominican's I go and thete WAY cheaper !!! Believe that. NEVER AGAIN.
GREAT Place~ – I've been coming to RKTI since 1991 and I've never had bad service. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. Many of his staff have been there a LONG time. Richard himself, takes a hands-on approach to everything there to make sure it's top-notch. Seating area is comfortable with good magazines, but I've never had to wait long enough to really read anything. The salon is very clean, quiet and professional. They have a great selection of products, but have NEVER forced a sale on me. I would highly recommend RKTI to anybody!
Not a very good place – Hair cut was good, but would NEVERr go back due to the fact that I had to STAND while waiting for sylist. There are like 2 teeny tiny couches to wait, which one was full and one had 1 rude ignorant you know what who would not move her you know what or her handbag to let me or my daughter sit. Not a happy camper, for such a hotty totty place, should have more sitting area for their clients. I felt the receptionist should have been more aware of this and made sure I had a place to sit, had to stand for about 15minutes..........ridiculous
Best service , wonderfully talented staff , very professional – From the minute I walked in till the moment I left the staff was friendly and professional. Richard personally takes responsibility for his salon and staff. He is very talented and works closely with all his staff to make sure your visit is all you expect.
I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for professional hair care with a staff that listens to what you want and makes sure your comfortable at all times. I felt like I was in a salon back in Atlanta or NY.
"Best massage anywhere" – I highly enjoyed my massage at Richard Kroll T.I. a few months ago with their therapist Kerry. I travel often and have had many massage therapists in my years but this one was the absolute best in tune, theraputic massage I have ever recieved... Someone told me she moved to Sensational. Is this true? Sad to say but this is too far for me.... Very neat salon, friendly staff, I'd recommend.
Relaxing Atmosphere – I went to RKTI to have a massage at the last minute. I do get frequent massages because I travel often for my job. I got an appointment the day of and was taken back at the quality of service I received being a new client. I felt as if I was a client for years. So friendly, everyone. I was greeted at the door by a friendly receptionist who introduced me to my massage therapist Kerry. She was very clean and well kept. She performed the Swedish Massage and I have to say she put me to sleep it was so wonderful. I recently moved my family to the Lehigh Valley and this is definetly one of the businesses I put on my speed dial. I am looking forward to taking my daughters there for their first manicure and pedicure as well.
This review was to let everyone and anyone know who loves a massage or never had one and is nervous, go and relax. It is the best atmosphere you could ask for and a very professional staff.

hair stylist – OUTSTANDING!! Excellent service, and wonderful style. Was my wedding day and Richard himself did my hair and it was outstanding, very elegant, and priced right. Well worth it, would definately go there again for a formal event hairstyle. Professional and friendly. Highly recommended.
Very Poor Service! Would not recommend to anyone! – Very ignorant and unprofessional! Did not listen to what I was looking for - Rude and insulting! There are many other quality salons in the Lehigh Valley area - Do not waste your time and your money!
below average and expensive – I got a French pedicure that was a little messy, and it started peeling and chipping after one week! Every other pedicure I've gotten has lasted about a month. It was also way overpriced at $45.
