Best Dining Experience Ever! – My husband and I were in San Francisco for his birthday and decided to celebrate with a nice dinner at Fleur de Lys. It was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! We both did the 4 course dinner. The food was so incredible. Every course was absolutely divine, and the portions were just the right size that we had room for the next, but left very full! The service was impeccible, they did not miss a beat. At one point during the dinner, my husband got up to use the restroom, and within seconds of him leaving, the wait staff came over, took his crumpled napking from the table and folded it up in a fan, and placed it back on the table! It was an expensive dinner, but oh so worth it.

Unimpressed with service for this type of restaurant – Went here for anniversary. Had the five course meal with wine pairing. Service seemed rushed, unpolished, and impersonal. Seems like they want to churn guests. Zero charm. Perhaps they are influenced by their Vegas haunt. Food was good and presentation was innovative. They did give us free dessert for anniversary which was nice. On the way out a drunk tried to smoke at the bar and was thrown out and almost pushed into us as we were leaving. At this kind of money, go to Gary Danko or Masa's, both are leaps and bounds above this place.

Proceed with Caution – Ate here recently with a large group and was pretty disappointed. Presentation was attractive for the most part, but the food was so-so. We had a set menu that "sounded" good, but the taste was somehow off. I'm not the only one that felt this way either. We started with two puree appetizers, one after the other, which tasted ok, but there was no contrast, just mush. A fish appetizer followed. It was no great shakes. Next up, a small tureen of soup with duck on foie gras. The foie gras was lost with the duck and bread that it sat on. Dessert was the best part, I suppose. I've eaten at the Las Vegas location as well (which has a completely different menu) and it was fantastic. Flavors were well-balanced, the staff was great. I recommend it if you're in Vegas.

Disappointed – From the first few moments in the restaurant, the experience was almost a complete letdown. As for the service, we experienced quite a delay in getting our menus, one of the servers re-filled my fiancee's Evian glass with Pellegrino, and we were brought another party's entree; pretty egregious errors for such a restaurant. 'The staff was incredibly knowledgable and helpful, however. The food didn't overly impress either. Most of it was quite good, however my fiancee's lobster was over-cooked and much of the presentation was less than stellar. Needless to say the whole experience didn't live up to my expectations. The restaurant is no doubt beautiful, but I likely wouldn't return.

Disappointed – I went for my sister's birthday and was disappointed given all the fanfare and hype around the restaurant. It took forever for the servers to provide us a menu after we sat down. The food was good, but not great. Having just been to La Folie, I couldn't help but feel that the food was 10x better there. Maybe it was an exception but I don't think I'll be back.

One of the best French restaurants around – One of the best fine dining experiences I've ever had. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The service was awesome and perfectly timed. The atmosphere was super romantic...perfect for a special date! The most important thing was the food and it was excellent. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended and worth every penny! I can't wait to go back again.

good, but not great. – Good food not a doubt, but no WOW factor. Portion size was decent. Service was good, but I have had better. If you don't love cheese, then save a buck. It's okay, but the cheese didn't really add much to my pallete.

Unfortunate disappointment – My husband took me to Fleur de Lys for my birthday and I thought it was going to be fantastic. Unfortunately, Mr. Keller has taken it upon himself to use his celebrity as license to serve less than fantastic dishes. The food was cold, not at all original, and the menu was not cohesive. The meat course came with a sauce that was so cold it had developed a film. For dessert, the server highly recommended the grand mariner soufflé, which was enormous and tasteless to say the best. I have eaten at amazing restaurants and was hoping this would fall into the same category. In San Francisco, you're much better off at Jardiniere or Moose's than at Fleur de Lys. Or, if you're willing to cross the Golden Gate, Bistro 330 in San Anselmo.

sOo pretty! – My boyfriend took me here and I loved it. I don't understand why people keep complaining. The food was exquisite, the ambience was elegant yet simple and not overly done so. Best of all, the service was EXCELLENT. Much better service than Gary Danko. Our waitress was friendly and very enthusiastic - she told stories and made conversation as if we already knew her, not pretentious or snooty like other top establishments. One time I got up to use the ladies room and I returned with a dome over my dish, nevermind that I was only gone for 2 minutes. The food itself was citrus-y, inventive and delightfully presented. My favorite was the dessert. I had the caramelized banana creme tart and my bf had the saffron crene brulee. Chef Keller even came out to greet his patrons and we childishly asked for a picture with him!

Romanitc and Exquisite – I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and was SO happy with my decision. The food, decor and service was FANTASTIC. It was very romantic and we had a wonderful experience. We both had the 5 course tasting menu. I also got the wine pairing.

He had: Ahi Tuna Tartar; Sea Bass with Black Trumpet Mushroom Crusts (his favorite); Peppered Filet Mignon with Braised Endives; An assortment of artisanal French Cheeses; Banana Tart

I had: Degustation; Hawaiian Prawns on Fennel Confit (my favorite); Duo Veal Tenderloin and Braised Veal shank "Parmentier"; An assortment of cheeses; sorbet

We were seated in a private corner table which allowed us a view of the dining room, and yet the ability to be off by ourselves for the special evening. Our waiter was Brian whose service was exceptional. Marcus Garcia and Joseph Arias also helped make the night memorable. Finally, we able to meet Chef Hubert Keller while he made his trip to the various tables!! Note: Chef Keller will be a finalist judge in the second season of Top Chef!

The total on the bill was WELL WORTH IT!!!
