Best Chinese Confort Food!! – I visit SF once a year from LA. After reading the rav reviews about this place, my girl and I decided to give it a try. U-Lee, without a doubt, offers one of the best Chinese foods I've ever tasted in my life. We had the potstickers (MUST HAVE), walnut prawn (ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD), cod w/black bean sauce, and some spinach, This is speaking from a person who is Chinese and lived in Taiwan for 16 years. Sure, the decor is not on the par of P.F. Cheng but the food and service is truly top notch. In fact, the restaurant resembles my grandma's kitchen so I feel just like home. My girl and I were chit-chatting with the people at U-LEE and trying to convince them to move to LA! I highly recommend this place. Two thumbs way up.
Dumplings to Die For – Ok, they were Pot Stickers, but dumplings made a better title.
This place is great! Not much to look at from the front or inside, but the food is king! The Potstickers are HUGE! The Kung Pao Shrimp actually has shrimp in it. Everything we had, down to the rice was really good...and I am VERYYYY particular when it comes to Chinese Food.
In addition, and sometimes the most important, was the value. Had four separate items, $20...and VERY healthy portions.
This place is a MUST to at least try.
(oh yeah, the girl that works there is incredibly sweet, nice and cordial)
Great Chinese family-style place – U-Lee does not offer great ambience and decor but good food. Tables are scarce so you will expect to wait for at least 10-15 minutes on a weekend.
The house specialty is no doubt the big, fat and juicy pot-stickers, a Northern Chinese delight packed with cabbage, diced ginger, minced pork in a giant dumpling wrapper. The appetizer plate usually takes 20 minutes to make fresh.
U-Lee owner came from Northern China so some of the finest dishes are from that region as well. Try the Shanghai thick noodle soup with preserved snow cabbage and shredded pork for a change if you're tired of Chow mein.
Other hidden delights of this place (besides the usual egg rolls, fried rice) include eggplants with minced pork in spicy fish sauce, sweet and sour pork, and mongolian beef.
Great potstickers! – A hole in the wall but the food is always delicious! If you like soup noodles - they have the best Shanghai soup noodle in the Bay Area. The potstickers are one of the best - huge and juicy. Chow mein in black bean sauce is very good too.
Yummy – This has great tasting food for very cheap. The portions are huge as are the potstickers. Service is very friendly. Restaurant does not look the best but who cares when you have food like this.
Potsticka – Just try the potstickers annd get a cot ...there the best in the universe
