In spite of the parking this is a must go. – Small and intimate, with an extremely friendly and experienced staff. The figs and prosciutto are the best we have had. Few entree choices, but all are wonderfully prepared. The wine list is well chosen and peppered with unusaul bottles (try the Browns Zin). No dinner is complete without the bread pudding.
Great food, humble digs – Just stumbled into this place taking some visitors around. Truly good cooking here. Great risotto, prawns that actually taste like prawns. Gnocchi with actual flavor. Low-key atmosphere. Great. Wine list could use spiffying up.
Best romantic dinner/date spot – I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I've had dinners here several times and without fail it is always very delicious. Their duck entree is fabulous, so is the risotto, the pork loins... oh and their bread pudding is really very, very, DELICIOUS! I had a lovely dinner for 2 there this past weekend - we had a nice table for 2 upstairs. Our waitress was great - she knew the food and wine well and confidently gave suggestions that my guest and I much appreciated. The ambiance was cozy, romantic and in a way relaxing. I found out about this place through friends that live nearby and this is one of their staple restaurants; and I have recommended this place to other people, who have had great things to say about it, too. Hope you will enjoy as much as my friends and I have!
One of our favorite SF restaurants! – Without fail, Frascati delivers a wonderful dining experience. The food is fantastic and the menu always offers an interesting selection. We had at least two different wait staff take care of us in addition to our waiter, so the service is exemplary. We are SF foodies, and this is where I choose to spend my birthday dinner celebration with my wife. Our blackberry cobbler even came with a candle on it! Our waiter always seems to have an interest in the food he delivers and what you might enjoy. We always try to get the table overlooking the restaurant on the balcony. It is a good people-watching spot. Frascati is a wonderful, romantic setting that always delivers pleasant memories.
Good Food, Bad Service – Went to Frascati on May 4 - hadn't been there for years. The food was great - we had the mussels and gnocchi to start, followed by the halibut, duck pork. Service, unfortunately, was lacking - after taking our order, our waiter was not to be seen again until after our entrees arrived, and then only to take our dessert order and drop off the check. We sat with empty water glasses for ten minutes and finally had to ask for refills. Butter was requested twice and never came. Not once did our wine glasses get refilled. Despite the good food, it's hard to want to return when the service is non-existent.
Aweful Disabled Accessibility – Let me start off by saying the restaurant is nice and somewhat humble in its decor; its astuter style present a power-trip atmosphere design to impress your company, through its over flatted price that are artistic while yummy! Disabled access is beyond horrible. The place is crowded with barely no walk way space for patroons for the waiters/waitress themselves. I was bumped by them throughout the entire night. The lavatory was lead by a downward narrow spiral stairs. The lavatory itself is EXTREMELY small as I barely was able to close the door while being inside--and I'm a small azn guy!
loved by locals – Well I live in the neighborhood, and I love Frascati.
I've got nothing bad to say...it's a perfect example of dinning experience matched to the price range. So it's no Gary Danko, but it's not anywhere near as expensive.
Get a reservation and enjoy.
Very Good Service, Decent Food, Not Spectacular – Very friendly staff - in no way overly formal. Menu on the hearty side, no surprises which you might come to expect in this price range. Some of the food is very good, some of it is simply good.
The wine by-the-glass list is small & basic :( but there is a good range by the bottle, in all price ranges. I think there are better values out there, but w/ so many locals coming , this place has got to be consistently pretty good.
Amazing Find – From the moment I came in and said my name, the maitre'd remembered my name the entire evening and made me feel extremely welcome. I brought my Girlfriend there for our anniversary and had an amazing meal. My girlfriend had what I would recommend everyone try at least once (the Rabbit Risotto). You could actually taste each spice hinted in the dish. The location is suprising as residential buildings surround it, so I am jealous of those residents as the food was fantastic. Highly recommended date spot. I am curious what anyone could say really negatively about this spot. Try it for yourself, and you wont be let down.
Very good – It was my first time at Frascati, and overall the food was delicious. I had their Smoked trout salad to start with and the textures and flavors worked well together. The wine was excellent. The only caveat was my main course, I had the duck breast and the mushrooms accompanying the dish was extremely salty, certain parts of the breast was also heavy on the salt. Maybe it was just my dish, because my date's entree was fine. The dessert made up for it, because the bread pudding was heavenly. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
