I thought this place was great! We were in town over Valentines weekend, and went back twice. You know the food is good when the locals are eating there. The place is always packed.
This is a really good Japanese restaurant. The sushi is good and the cooked dishes are too. The specials change periodically and are usually worth trying.
Always been good. Portions are great. Sushi is always fresh.
I've been here twice and so far so good - don't know what others are whining about coz my tempura was crisp & fresh, the inari filled plenty tho they were missing the sesame seeds I'm used to from other places. The music was too loud on my second visit but we mostly watched the NBA playoff game on the TV anyway so no big deal. I'll definitely be back.
Ok so they are far from being authentic. However, I like sushi rock because of the very speedy service, generally good tasting sushi, and excellently priced lunch specials. It also helps that they are 1 block away from my store and 2 blocks away from my apartment :) Quick and easy decent sushi. Plus they serve miso soup, seaweed salad, and sometimes ice cream complimentary.
I used to live right near this restaurant, and frequent it often because I loved the sushi and loved the prices. I recently returned (after many years absence) and to my surprise nothing had changed! Love this place, it's not the classiest sushi place around, but the maki rolls are always excellent and the place is big so it's not usually too crowded.
I came here for the first time about 2 months ago with a group of friends. We loved it so much we made it our weekly spot to get together. The service is very prompt and the sushi is fabulous. All of us like something different, sushi or chicken teriyaki, and no one has every complained. It is a very fun atmosphere and also a great place for sake.
This is my go-to place in San Francisco for sushi. I didn't think I'd find a place that would live up to my L.A. sushi snobbery, but Sushi rock is all that and more. The prices are great and the fish is ALWAYS fresh. If you like uni, make sure you order it here. It's plump, buttery, and the freshest I've found amongst all the sushi places I've tried in the city. The only con about this place is that it gets crazy busy, so expect an hour wait or more during prime dinner time Thurs/Fri/Sat. But never fear, the hostess will take your phone number and call you when a table is ready, so you're free for a pre-dinner cupcake!
Sushi Rock offers its clients delicious yet very well priced and affordable sushi. The atmosphere is great; with random pop music (both American and European/Asian) playing at a decent volume so that it's well suited for a night out with friends or date nights with your special someone. At both lunch and dinner, one of the best options are the bento boxes, allowing you to pick multiple types of sushi or Teriyaki dishes. The beer and wine selection is pretty good and decently priced too. Definitely check it out! Food is great and service is fast and efficient. A very pleasant experience all around.
The restaurant has a great feel, the service is great. Great place to hang out with friends and watch a game or two. Most of the sushi are pretty good, but doesn't have a great selection. I love the oyster and sushi.
