Cute! – This is a cute little neighborhood pizza joint. The pizza is pretty average though, although everyone told me different.
It's usually packed though, so be prepared for a short wait.

Hooked from day 1 – It is unconscionable that pizza is anything less than Za. Certainly my favorite quick pie in the city, with both delivery (the owner will deliver occasionally, and he's one of the nicest guys I know) and in the restaurant. Try it once, and you'll never go back.
great neighbourhood joint, kewl owner, great food – serving the midwest just graduated frat types and maybe a few choate/dartmouth types, a great place, super big salads not drenched in dressing, fresh ingredients on pizzas, great beer selection, and art. well, i don't really care about the art, but still, small, personable, comfortable place.
Za Rocks – I absolutely love Za pizza. Great slices, yummy salads...and the service rocks. The guys are so much fun. I highly rccomend this place, it's a great Russian Hill hang out. The food is great, and there's a really fun atmosphere...if you haven't already, you should definately try it.
Gimme Za! – I LOVE this thin crust pizza. My parents visit from NY once a year and their first night in town is always about a Za Pizza and salad, with a good bottle of red.
I live in the neighborhood and find Za's owners/employees to be VERY friendly, and service is always good.
Za pizza is the greatest. They have all sorts of toppings and they come up with great pizzas.
Must try! – This is the best pizza in SF! Although a slice costs more than average, they are quite large and delicious. The specialty slices are the way to go, the toppings and thin crust is what makes this pizza so great.
The place can fill up so there may be a little wait for a table. Also parking is a nightmar in Russian Hill.
The staff is very friendly, they make the experience more enjoyable. I recommend sitting at the bar.
Excellent – This is definitely the best pizza in the city. The slices are huge and great value but parking is just about impossible and the service at night can be patchy.
A hip, friendly pizza parlor with a colorful setting and pies named for painters. – In Short
Brightly colored tables and a revolving art collection highlight the decor of this Russian Hill pizzeria. The sheer size of the massive slices is a major selling point. Cheese and pepperoni are always available, plus a couple of specialty slices, like the Potesto, featuring thick black-pepper-sprinkled slices of red-skinned potato embedded in melted cheese and pesto sauce. Whole pies are named for painters, from the Salvador Dali to the Vincent Van Dough.
