Rudest staff of any business in SF period. – I honestly have no idea why anyone would use this pharmacy unless they simply "have no other choice." It never ceases to surprise me how any human in the customer service field can be so blatantly rude and so immensely unhelpful as the two older ladies that generally staff the front desk here. The taint of these two greatly overshadow the otherwise helpful, friendly and efficient pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians.

Over the years--while waiting in line or waiting for a medication as I sat on the stained, crusty chairs--I've observed countless front-desk interactions. And clearly these women have their favorite faces and their moments, but no one such as these deserve any place in a medical field in any role as a client relations specialitst (CRS), customer service representative (CSR), or just plain receptionist. From my own hospital administrator's perspective, it makes no sense to me why any medical office would choose to put "this face forward" with such scowls, bluntless and rudeness of speech, malaise, apathy and just plain meanness when addressing another person. Their mannerisms of response only escalate tough situations when a person in their capacity should be at their best in addressing customers who are sometimes at their worst.

With some front desk oversight, this would be an entirely different and better place. Clearly this is not done; for if it was these staff members would be removed from any position with human interaction upon first performance review. A quick run-through of progressive discipline would see them gone without management fears of retaliation for unlawful termination (age discrimination, etc.).

RUDEST STAFF OF ANY PHARMACY IN SF – I am a disabled senior citizen and am generally not wont to complain about customer service, realizing that with the advent of technology and the current trend of having fewer employees to do more work; but the abject rudeness and unprofessional conduct of the staff at this pharmacy compelled me to relate my experience. My Dr's office is in the same bldg as this pharmacy owned by Stephen Rowland and I have a debilitating case of spinal stenosis which besides being crippling is extremely painful so I have to try and keep my travels to a minimum. My Dr prescribes the pain relief "patch" Fentanyl or Duragesic which I have worn for several years being opioid tolerant. The Dr told me that to get a refill, I could just call the pharmacy and they would call his office, thereby saving me an extra office visit just to pick up a Rx. This pharmacy employee/clerk Kathy or Cathy informed me that they wouldnt call the Dr. I would have to see the Dr. So, I called my Dr's office to inform them of their mistake and to set up an appointment to come in and pick up a Rx. Dr was mystified as to why he couldn't call it in, also saving me taxi fare and inconvenience. Anyway, I started going to Walgreens, which even though not as convenient, WILL call my Dr for me and they are also open nights and weekends which StFrancis is not. But the main reason is the friendly, professional staff. The staff [mainly] Cathy is the rudest, most unprofessional individual I have ever encountered in a retail environment. I just wonder if the owner a Mr.Stephen Rowland is aware of the surliness of his employee. I did notice on YAHOO that there are others with the same experience with the rude staff at StFrancis Pharmacy, so apparently mine is not an isolated experience. For these reasons, I go to a far less convenient pharmacy. If your'e looking for a smile and a "thank you" avoid this place!!!!
