This remote mountain provides some of the most challenging runs in Pennsylvania.. In Short
Elk is further upstate and more remote than most of the other Pocono ski areas, and appeals more to the expert skier than to families or the college-age partying crowd. The crowds can get large and the lines long at times, but these are mostly hard-core skiers in line, not beginners. Avid skiers and boarders generally give high marks to the expert slopes, which comprise almost half of the available trails.
