Wonderful place!!! – I had a great experience today! I arrived early for my appointment, only to find I needed to have someone drive me home. My husband was still asleep and I couldn't wake him by phone. They allowed me to drive home and wake my husband, and still performed the procedure so I wouldn't have to reschedule. Most doctors offices get a bad wrap about keeping patients waiting, but I kept them waiting today. Not once did I hear a complaint about arriving late for my appointment . The nursing staff and assistants were incredibly kind. Dr Rutta was very informative and took the time to answer my questions.and as promised had my results before I left. I can't say enough good things about how well I was treated. I will definitely recommend this office to my friends.
Exit Care at Endscopy Center – I arrived and had no problems with receptionist (Kathy) or Karen who brought me back to the preparation area.
Janice was friendly and conversive and professional as she placed the IV in. Dr. and staff in the "scope" room were very attentive. I am a nurse by trade and I was in a great mood until Melissa Z. showed up to take my IV out. I made the MISTAKE of taking my arem out of my gown! Slap me now! She has alot to learn about bedside manner . I would have not talked to a patient the way she spoke to me. I would have handled it in a more gentler way and I told her so. She doesn't even smile. She needs sensitivity training. I hope he supervisor can help her. People in her position must be nice no matter what side of the bed they woke up on!
Disregard for Patient’s Legal Rights – Scranton Endoscopy Center, 519 Ash Street, Scranton, PA Very little concern for legal rights of patients. When I arrived the receptionist "read" the permission slip from her computer screen to me. She had obviously shortened what the document actually said and gave me her "interpretation" of this legal document. Next, she had me sign an electronic pad. She would not allow me to see the actual document that I had signed "electronically". She insisted that she could see it on her computer screen and that was "good enough". Obviously annoyed, she pointed to a laminated document on the counter top and said that was the same thing. After I stated that I would call my lawyer if she did not let me see what I had to sign, she agreed to print out the document. The printed document did not match the laminated document on the counter. When I tried to read the printed document that she finally gave me, she became very annoyed, reached through the window, and ripped it out of my hands. Then in a snotty tone, told me that I would have to speak to an administrator. Finally, an administrative nurse gave me a copy of the permission documents. I am very uncomfortable doing business with this firm again. Making it difficult for patients to read and understand the legal documents they are required to sign is highly unethical.
