WOOD HEAT is a FANTASTIC company! We purchased a pellet stove from Wood Heat and they installed it in October 2012. We worked with the staff at the Quakertown location and they were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. (I'm sure the staff at their other locations are just as helpful.) They were very helpful in determining the size of stove we would need for our home and where we should locate it for the best heat distribution.
Their installation team came to install it about a week later and it took only a few hours!!! The workers were prompt and courteous. There was absolutely no mess and no inconvenience. I also had a great experience with a routine maintenance call over the summer.
Every staff member of this company has gone out of their way to ensure that we have been happy with our stove. We have called the store with questions about the use, cleaning and maintenance of the stove and they have answered us courteously. I am SO GLAD that we decided to install a pellet stove, and I am SO GLAD that we gave our business to Wood Heat.
**--The best part is that we saved almost $1000 on our heating costs last year!
WARNING!!! Do not do business with this company. They took all of our cash up front ($7000+) for a unit that we had purchased in the summer of 2012. Winter is half over.... and they are still not done!
"TIM" the sales guy came to our location to inspect the place. Not to get too technical, he said that we were good for the install. So he sets up a date for the install (in a month!). When the installers come, they tell us the the chase base box is too low.
They told this after we had rebuilt the entire fireplace with stucco on the exterior. We had specifically had asked TIM to make sure that everything was a GO-AHEAD before I told my stucco guy to apply the stucco.
Bottom line, ON OUR EXPENSE, we then needed to tear down part of the chase and RAISE IT because the installers said there was a safety issue. We should have been notified of this before anything else, yet to only find out when everything was already done and way too late. If you do go with them, you will discover they are terrible at communication. They ignore your calls, when you leave messages, they DO NOT CALL BACK. And when you talk to TIM (your sales guy) he'll tell you that he will call you back, and he does not do so.
They did not install the unit until Dec 1 2012 (4 months later). Per our contract it was supposed to within the first month. So on Dec 1 they decide to come out and they deliver us a BROKEN UNIT! Now we need to wait on OUR WARRANTY and another work order in order to fix the issue. In addition, THEY DID NOT FINISH THE CHASE INSTALLATION JOB!.
They left us with will an uncompleted install. This means that we can not use the fireplace! The year is almost over...the winter is almost over. We are VERY upset with the sales person TIM and the owner TOD for not following up and getting this whole thing resolved as quickly as possible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They smile to your face when they want you to buy and when you do they screw you, breach your contract and do not care about you after they collect your $$$!
2 days ago we had another install date set with JOHN, he was supposed to come in and finish the work order. NEVER SHOWED UP! We called Tim to follow up on what the hell is going on here. TIM told my wife he would call back - AND NEVER DID! We are frustrated beyond belief.
BOTTOM LINE DO NOT BUY FROM WOOD HEAT! Go somewhere else.
Knowledgeable - selection – I found Wood heat to be very knowledgeable of their products. A very large selection and it was great to see the stoves and fireplaces burn. I had a pleasureable expierience from start to finish. I loved the country setting. Best of all the fire is beautiful and very relaxing. Best purchase I ever made.
incompetance! – My salesman, Jim Donovan, did not give me a rough in sheet to run the gas and electric lines. He would give me nothing in writing for my plumber and for drilling in my historic fireplaces, only verbally.
He told me to run the lines through the clean out port on the bottom of the FP. That was wrong. The installers are here now and they can't hook anything up because everybody at Wood Heat gave me wrong infomration, including and the inital pre-inspection that Wood Heat charged for. They wait until they come out with the stoves to figure it out.
So here I am, with installers who do not bring bootie covers and refuse to take their shoes off on my newly refinished floors, having to call the plumber and electrician back to re-run the lines. I will not have working FP's when they leave today.
Total incompetance. They tell me on the day of the installation where the lines should be!
They are paying for all the rework. I will dispute the fireplace costs with my credit card company and work it out that way.
