Great Food - Great Deal – What a wonderful, casual atmosphere with such well-priced entrees. Super good. Try the crab enchiladas - divine.
impress – It had been about 6 months since I last enjoyed a meal at Panchita's. Well I returned ... and man was it good. Better than I had remembered. The service had even improved. The wine list had grown and become quite respctable. And ... as usual chef/owner Raphael Campos cooked everything with his usual spark, and even came to our table to make sure all was well (a nice touch from a chef, or owner for that matter). I highly reccomend Panchita's #3 in San Francisco's Mission district.
A real let down! – After reading the earlier reviews which were all raves I decided to try this place. Too bad I didn't notice then, as I just did now, that the good reviews were all from a couple of years ago! Chips and salsa on the table were fine - par for the course. Pupusas were cut in quarters and covered with a bunch of sauce which made them get cold really fast and impossible to eat. Chicken in mole was too sweet and pretty oily. They only had flan for dessert, and they were out of it. Enough said.
Forget It! – I reviewed this place once, but for some reason my comments were never posted... let's see if they will put these up, or if they only post the positive reviews! Very bad ambiance due to the number of men "enjoying" themselves loudly at the bar, and it seemed like they may have been doing just that ALL day long. The server was inattentive and slow and hard to track down when we needed anything (he was chatting with his friends at the bar), and the food was cold and nothing special when it got to us. greasy pupusas, greasy beans and rice, and our medium rare steak was WELL done, with no offer to replace it or take it off the bill. take your business elsewhere!
Never expected the quality of food from the location -- but this place is really GOOD and all the food is beautifully presented!
Almost Perfect! – Everything was great. The only thing puzzled me was the service. Our waitress seemed to be attentive but rarely smiled. You ever got this kind of feeling that you weren't sure if you were really welcomed? That's how I felt during the entire visit.
The perfect date resturant!! – This has to be my favorite resturant in San Francisco. It has great ambiance with candles, wine glasses, and beautiful black and white photos on the walls. The bar is a great place to sit and have a glass of wine and share a tasty treat with friends. It is also the perfect place to go on a first date. It has intimate seating and an extremely affordable menu. The food is easily the greatest achievement in latin cuisine. I take all of my friends there and reccommend it to everyone.
