Been eating here for years! – One of the few places in San Franciscoyou can still get an actual Chimichanga! Great food all the way around it is a bit on the over priced side and their guac is only so-so but still an excellent excellent place to eat!
The Best Mexican Food in Northern California! – If you love authentic Mexican food (not the Tex-Mex Chevy's style of cooking), you'll really love Orale. This family-owned restaurant serves the very best chile rellenos around, along with flautas, enchiladas, chimichangas, quesadillas, and more. People line up around the block on Fridays for their to-die-for Crab Enchiladas. The house-made salsa has one blue ribbon awards at the California State Fair as the state's very best salsa for many years in a row, and no wonder -- it is a perfect combination of fresh, spicy, highly addictive ingredients. You can order items ala carte or as combinations/dinner with the traditional (and tasty) rice and beans. Prices are what you'd expect in the financial district -- slightly more than in the Mission but not bad. (without beverages, average full meal is under $10, including tax).
Closer to Chevy's then authentic – Not the best, but if you're craving mexican and work in the financial dist-this can hit the spot. Not traditional either (no selection/variety of meats)
Not cheap/low on the value scale. They charge extra for more salsa ($0.30) and don't have any traditional condiments.
Authentic Mexican – I agree with other reviewers that I don't know why "smokeythecancer" gave it such a poor review. It is probably the most authentic Mexican food in SF and competes with anywhere in the mission. Prices are reasonable and the food rocks. What more can you ask for? The only knock is that it is only open during the week.
I love it – It makes me wish I still worked in the financial district so I could eat there for lunch. The staff is really friendly and always remembers my name. I LOVE the chimichangas, and their refried beans are excellent. It's very noisy and you have to wait n lline but that never stopped me. Not cheap, but nothing in the financial district is. I've been happy with everything I've ever ordered there.
Excellent, Affordable Mexican Food – I don't know what the reviewer below who knocks this place is talking about - Orale is a great Mexican restaurant, by far, one of the best I have ever had, and I've had alot of Mexican food. Its authentic, delicious and affordable. It gets very busy during lunch but the service is always friendly and fast. My favorites are the enchiladas, the amazingly tender pork and the carne asada. Great salsa too. Its definitely a must try.
HolyFrijoles! HayBuenoMex.en$District – It rocks for lunch. Even breakfast is stellar. Anyone who knocks it is grudging.
yes, losers stay away – Seems someone has an (anonymous) vendetta against this place... but it's definitely a great restaurant, and I live in the Mission and can compare it favorably to taquerias there. So those of you who compare it to Taco Bell, please DO stay away - you'll have more fun going to a drive-thru.
Eat at your own risk – What the heck is this place? Don't believe these reviews you read here. The people eating this horrible food are Taco Bell junkies, bridge-and-tunnel Mexican food eaters. There are so many good restaurants in SF. Don't waste your time (and a TON of your money) here.
Food Coma – This place has the best steak burritos. Its probably because the owners are from Argentina (i think). The Enchiladas Verde are excellent too. To top it off the salsa here has a very uniqe flavor and piquantness. So "hurry" up and try one.
