Dirty place, rude staff. Gross dishes, overpriced beer that tasted like the lines were dirty. If you love hanging out at the mall then go for it, otherwise go anywhere else or buy a sixer and stay home.

Great atmosphere. I loved the food. My boyfriend and I shared the breaded fried artichoke hearts appetizer which was fantastic, I almost ordered another one. The burger was really good and juicy. The atmosphere was awesome and the service was friendly enough, but it was fairly busy. It took a while before our server cmae to us, but the host came over and got our order started for her so we didn't wait long. There were a lot of people just having drinks and they got kinda loud so it made conversation a little hard, but I was busy eating anyway. I would go again.

Average Food, Poor Service. The Holding Company serves over-priced bar food and the service is poor. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Great food, drinks, and for larger parties too. This place is a great place to take a group of friends to enjoy some nice drinks (especially there most tasty martinis), tasty food, and lots of space for your party as well (especially towards the evening hours).

Businessman huddle for food and drinks in this highfalutin Financial District staple.. In Short
On the top level of Embarcadero Two, The Holding Company does a brisk after-work business, pouring gallons of booze for a stressed-out, white-collar crowd. Drinking is the main event, thanks in part to the nearly two dozen beers on tap. It's also renowned for its hamburgers--big, half-pound patties perched on fat, crusty buns and served with tasty wedge fries.

This is a definate yes. Great for lunches, of course the burgers are great, but specials are awesome! Had the Carnitas last week..wow! We were in w/ 15 people, & the service was first rate, & food arrived really quickly, housemade Tiramisu..holy cow!!

Happy hour..ggreat martini specials, & they have best pizza! (Of course TVs for sports)

A long-time establishment. This place has been around for quite some time, but it's been a long time since my last visit. It was quite crowded for a Friday lunch. I went for the fish & chips special - it was good but I've had better. I heard the person at the next table telling the waiter that the fries were soggy, which were my same thoughts. My friend chose the special crab caesar and she was able to get a half order which was plenty; she liked it especially because the crab was fresh. Service was good.

Fun for trivia. They have great trivia here. It's fun to hit The Holding Company in the Embarcadero 2 after work for some hot trivia and cold beer. The Holding Company is San Francisco's version of CHEERS!
