Not so spectacular anymore – Not impressed. Front desk left little to be desired. Not overly friendly or helpful. Room, boutiquey but older. Hallways actually smell musty. Gross. Will try the Sofitel next. Its new and yhe same price point. Yvonne Baird
Disappointing – My husband and I dined at Boathouse Row based on a friend?s suggestion for a low-key bite to eat on a random weeknight. The place was desolate, and should have been our first clue. The only people dining and at the bar were out of towners, clue number two. The menu offers bar food and a few tradition dishes such as roasted chicken, burgers, etc. We ordered the wings and they were average. We ordered the fries bc they came with three dipping sauces. The sauces delivered to us were tartar, ketchup and vinegar!!!! The mussels were lacking in flavor and broth, very bland. All in all, not one of Philly?s best. Skip the Boathouse and spend your money at one of the many other wonderful Pubs that the city has to offer.
Sports bar for team owners and those wish they were. – In Short
Right away you'll notice the single shell of local hero, Jack Kelly, suspended from the ceiling, as well as cases full of boating trophies and memorabilia. One side of the room features a mural of Philly's picturesque Boathouse Row, the trademark twinkling lights actually set into the wall. The bar fills up with upwardly mobile types at their predictable leisure times, particularly for a power happy hour of mediocre drinkables.
A Fine Hotel with a great Spa and a fabulous restaurant – This is really the class act of this city. I travel here often and this is the first time I have stayed here. The rooms were lovely, the staff very good, the spa, swimming pool area was great and the La Croix restaurant was super. It is expensive but worth it.
Reputation Earned – Excellent hotel with wonderful rooms and service. Quiet and luxurious with excellent service
Boathouse Row Bar lost its oars – Since new management the bar has gone from great to horrible and it will only get worse. The servers are great people but management has seemed to get the best of them. Its ok though, if you want to try a place with good food and a great chef try Blue Bell Country Club. Youll find a good percentage of the old Rittenhouse staff there which used to make the Rittenhouse shine. Now, Blue Bell stands tall.
