Fabulous and unique for your look! – The color, style and cut are done uniquely for you... it is definitely not a production shop . The cut and style accentuates and complements the best of your facial shape . The color results in a natural but extremely attractive look. He considers whatever needs your lifestyle requires in terms of maintenance!A real find!
Excellence and Style for 2+ Decades – I was shocked and disappointed by "emma450" 's extremely negative and catty review below. I usually do not write reviews, but when I saw that, I absolutely needed to refute it. I have been going to Adam Kaufman for over 2 decades and have never been disappointed by his world class expertise and professional demeanor.
Adam's rigorous and classical salon training and extensive work experience in both London and New York gives him an iron cast professional foundation which is rare today. His analytical approach to cutting and styling is designed to bring out the best in his clients' hair and face, flattering the client's appearance while minimizing the need for extensive daily maintenance.
I often travel to major Asian cities where a visit to a trendy salon can cost hundreds of dollars, where they deal only with Asian hair, and where they follow the latest European fashion; none of them have given me (an Asian man) a cut that even approaches Adam's expertise. If anything, these expensive salons have occasionally damaged my hair with bad cutting techniques and treatments, which Adam has always repaired and rejuvenated with his skill and very mild hair nutrients. His styles, while flattering, remain contemporary without being overtly and overly trendy. This is why I have remained a loyal and admiring customer for so many years. I worry that he will retire too soon!
All the other positive comments about Adam's interesting personality and his articulate knowledge of art and all things aesthetic that other loyal customers have made are all very true. However, the most important reason to go to a salon is to come out refreshed and feeling great about oneself from a wonderful cut, and Adam has delivered that consistently, every visit, for decades. I hope that you will have the great pleasure of experiencing this for yourself!
Best cut and color! – Adam has been cutting and now coloring my hair for over 25 years. We started when we lived in Phila and now that I live in NY I come back for his genius work. His color work is extraordinary - no one knows that my hair is actually enhanced. He is so very smart and articulate on so many topics, it makes sitting in his chair a unique experience; a highly recommended one.
Lovely haircut & magnetic stylist – Adam Kaufman gives me GREAT haircuts and he is an awful lot of fun to be with. His salon is magical with lovely environment and witty, hilarious, banter. Go to him--you shan't regret it!
Adam is the best! – With Adam you receive a great haircut, good music, and lively conversations on cooking, theater, politics, and everything in between. Adam is simply wonderful, and whenever I am back in Philadelphia, I swing by for the best haircut anywhere.
Best haircut ever. – Adam is a fine stylist and so much more. He quickly becaomes a good friend who is willing to share his extensive knowledge of music, theater, films, food, shopping, and so on. The salon is clean and attractive; there is always beautiful music playing, and the conversation is witty and delightful. There is no reason to go elsewhere for hair care; Adam has it all.
Adam Kaufman Hair Studio – Adam is known for some of the best haircuts and haircolor in Philadelphia. Hair he cuts moves, hair he colors never looks as though it had been colored. All my friends who have begun to go to him swear by him.
Some may consider his manner pretentious, but I don't. He gives great advice on fashion, theater, films and restaurants -- you will not be bored at the hairdresser ever again. And he's a mensch, who can't do enough for his clients.
I don't know who wrote the previous bad review but it's ridiculous and unfair.
Bleach and Pretense – Adam takes delight in personally insulting his clients. With his pretentious nature and severe hatred for Philadelphia (desperately trying to act like he's from New York) you would assume he was familiar with the latest highlighing/ coloring trends from the last 10 years. Instead he lobs bleach on your head bringing you to a Marilyn Monroe color which although many would like to be able to wear, few can. After three visits your hair begins to seriously suffer and break down. He ccouldn't care less.
