When it comes to my hair I am very fussy, as I think everyone should be; after all you have to see it every day. I have had a slew of bad and so-so experiences over the past five or so years. I am BLOWN AWAY by how AWESOME my hair looks after an appointment with Reno today! He spent about 10 minutes talking with me about what I wanted and looked at a picture of Natalie Portman (that probably cost her about $500) before he did anything to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. Then he shared the options with me including the pricing so I wouldn't be surprised at the check-out counter (very considerate, and more than I can say for other salons I've been to).
I have lived in Philadelphia since 1976, and believe it or not, have not found a hair cutter that I've been back to more than a few times. I saw a woman running to a train with a perfect haircut that fit her face, and asked where she got it. I have never been so happy with my hair. He has a natural artist, great feel for what he does, is charming and engaged, and everyone comments on my hair! The Salon is not pretentious, never have to wait for an appointment, and I look forward to my every 6 week train ride to get my hair cut!
If you're sick of trying out new salons, only to be disappointed and perhaps traumatized by less-than-attentive stylists, then breathe easy, your search is over! I am so thrilled with the way my hair looks! I feel great! Thanks Reno and Caroline!!!
I've been going to Oggi for the last 2 and a half years - basically since I moved to Philly and I love it! They are super-friendly and always can fit me in. I love Noreen for hair cuts and highlights - haven't been disappointed in how my hair turns out EVER. She's really nice, she listens to me and knows exactly what I want. Love her! Have also been going to Edith for waxing and she's fabulous as well. I highly recommend this salon.
I got a foot reflexology two times from Parry and Parry did a good job when giving me a foot reflexology having me sit in a pedicure chair. However, the only suggestion I have is to give foot reflexologies in a massage room having a client lie down on a massage table with sweet soft music playing with the reflexologist/therapist being the only one in the room having the massage room door closed (kind of like being in a doctor office when a patient is being called in, they are alone in a room with the doctor with the door being closed). Sitting in a pedicure chair is not easy to relax and it's uncomfortable having people walking around and/or being noisy.
I love Oggi and the stylists that work there! My first cut was in 2008 and having long hair I was a little skeptical. Cynthia was my stylist and sensing my fear she gave me a stylish cut with lots of layers but not too crazy or high maintenance. I was happy with it because I gave her artistic license to do anything and she gave me a cut that looked good on me. Well, I didn't go back for a while because I began to grow my hair back out and I went to my local cheap place for little trims here and there. So my second visit wasn't until September 2009 when I decided to chop it all off. And when I say chop, I mean chop. I had close to 11 inches taken off! I brought in some photos and Cynthia did an amazing job of giving me that cut while keeping in mind little details more suited for my face. I loved it so much that I've been keeping up with it and I do not intend to grow it back for a very long time :)
Waxing is not for the faint of heart, and it is an act of faith to let a stranger at your face (or legs, or, you know, wherever) with that popsicle stick full of seething wax. You're just hoping to come out a little smoother, but the stress can be enough to drive one right back to tweezers. You can't help but wonder - will it hurt? Is the top layer of my epidermis about to be forcibly removed? Or, even worse - what if she takes off 50+% of my brows? Am I going to have to draw them on like some underaged Marilyn Manson devotee?? If you never want to worry about these things ever again, call Oggi and make an appointment with Debbie. She's a highly skilled professional, as well as a vibrant, fun person, and she will make your brows (or, you know, wherever) perfect.
Oggi stylist Cynthia produces 'rockstar' hair! I went in this morning for a color and a cut, my hair was crazy long and getting a bit scraggly, the color just wasn't right. I had a quick chat with Cynthia about color options and the best way to blend my roots and sort things. She quickly got to work, and just a few hours later I left with the best look I've had in ages. I showed her a photo of the cut I wanted and she produced something that far exceeded my expectations! There is so much movement and body I'm really tickled pink! I went brave and went with bangs, she let me know she does complimentary bang trims to help her clients who've made the 'hide the forehead' jump! A++ for that!
I have been with Brenda for many years, getting both facials and waxing's. Her understanding of skincare is amazing. She loves what she does and it shows! Her waxing is painless (if you know what I mean), my brows look great, and she is fast. She is also very fair on her pricing. When she told me she was moving to PIleggi at 7th and Walnut, I knew I was going there too!
I was unable to get an appointment before an important event with my regular colorist at another Salon. Oggi Salon had an opening. That is where I met Cindy. It was my lucky day. My color turned out better than ever. The key was that Cindy listened to what I wanted and then explained what result I would get if I did it exactly as I had requested. She then explained how I could get a better result. She is the expert and I listened to her. She knows that hair color can make you look younger or older if not executed well. Who wants to look older? Over a year later, I would not trust my color to anyone else! The pricing at the salon is also well in line with the quality of the service. I would highly recommend Cindy and Oggi!
