You’ve heard of the novel "Around the World in 80 Days", right? Well, taking a tour of the Masonic Temple is like journeying around the world in 60 minutes. The grand white syenite structure contains seven opulent lodge rooms, each exactingly decorated to mimic a specific era of a specific empire. Egyptian Hall, for instance, boasts a replica of a sphinx and hieroglyphics; Oriental Hall resembles the Alhambra in all its Moorish glory; and Gothic Hall pays homage to the 19th century European Knights Templar. And don’t believe that nonsense about Masonic Temples being barricaded to the public ... for less than ten bucks, anyone can tour the halls and the museum and peek at the library.
