Unprofessional and pushy! – I had been going to this spa for 3 yrs. and received numerous facials, manicures, pedicures, etc. I had mixed experiences with this place, some good, some bad. On the positive side, I did enjoy manicures and pedicures here but you have to be careful who you get b/c one of the ladies hurt my cuticles. I also received a divine massage! Now for the not so great experiences. I had a facial with Fannie who used to smoke a cigarette then put her smelly hands on my face and talk to me the entire time! Another facialist burned my face with that machine used to reduce bacteria on the skin. Lastly, a third facialist named Lucy gave a wondeful facial with great extractions and then proceeded to bring $200 worth of products into the room for me to buy. I sat up and she said, "OK here are the products you will purchase today". She also told me she expected me to buy these products b/c she spent a lot of time with me and gave me an extra service. I am no spa amateur and I can tell you there was nothing extra! As for spending time with me, isn't that what a good facialist should do!?!? Needless to say I left without purchasing and never went back.
GREAT Massage – Wasn't sure about this place because it had mixed reviews. I took a friend last minute and it was the only place we could get two appointments at. We arrived early, and the receptionist recommended that we add-on a steam and hydrotherapy bath. The hydrotherapy bath (an oversized jauzzi-type tub) is in a private room, lit with candles and laden with rose petals. My friend found it very relaxing. I did the steam room. It was absolutely perfect. Again, a private treatment, so I had the place to myself. Steam was just the right volume. The attendant let us know when we should head to the waiting room for our massages, and made sure that we had plenty of water. Our massage therapists were possibly the best we have experienced. I have had massages in Europe, on cruise ships, and at some of the top US resorts. The massage I received here was definitely world-class. Both of our therapists used their hands--not just their elbows like you get at some places. My therapist was concerned about some knots in my back and used hot stones on them at no extra charge. The price for the massage and steam add-ons was unbelievably reasonable.
The ambience is not the Four Seasons, but it is clean, lots of candles, and nice. The locker room is a little small and only has one shower, so you should plan this.
I highly recommend Ultrabeauty if you are looking for a GREAT massage.
Hands down...the worst experience! – This place is a poor excuse for a spa....please do not go here for any type of waxing!!! This place is dirty, has very poor customer service, and is a complete rip off!!! When I asked as to how long this place has been in business- the cashier told me for several years- I couldn't help but think....HOW!!!!
Poor services and very poor customer service – I tried this salon/spa twice since it has great reviews here and it is very close to my office, and I was very very disappointed both times (so-so manicure and a bad eyebrow wax, a terrible massage and the facial was just awful). For the eyebrow wax instead of going into a private room like every other salon/spa I've been to, she had me put my head back in the shampooing sink and waxed them there! Needless to say it was uncomfortable for my neck and my hair got damp in the sink. I am very skeptical of all these glowing reviews - they all seem overly positive and there are so many of them for a salon/spa. The constant odor of cigarettes all over their staff is really quite disturbing and very unporfessional. They seem totally unconcerned with client satisfaction. When I expressed my opinion they just laughed and said to me to try another spa/salon. I will don't you worry.
Just terrible and quite unsatisfactory – I need not go into great detail, but suffice it to say that after driving from Cherry Hill to visit my sister in the northeast, asnd then going to this spa with her-we were both very dissapointed. This is not an upscale place and the services were mediocre at best.I wanted a top notch facial and massage, what I received was not ewven barely passable. Maybe if the technicians spoke english and stopped smoking all over the spa they could spend time learning their trade. I have found far better spas in Cherry Hill and downtown Philly,so as not to waste my time on this place.
The perfect refuge for pampering – In late October, I organized a group of 30+ women to attend a private spa party at UltraBeauty Day Spa. We came from all over the East Coast, as well as the local Philadelphia area. The women in attendance are all part of a non-profit group called Mocha Moms that supports mothers. Since moms are the least likely people to find time for themselves, I wanted to make sure their time and money would be well spent.
I was lucky to stumble across UltraBeauty through a web search, and I'm so glad I did! It is a hidden oasis that offers the perfect combination of pampering and relaxation! Before visiting, I did the virtual tour on the website and called the spa to coordinate a meeting with the owner, Lydia Kazimirov. Lydia is a true gem, organizing everything flawlessly and making sure things went perfectly during our four-hour stay at the spa.
In addition to the massages, facials, nail services and other treatments, we made full use of the beautiful spa facilities. You would never know what's inside the doors of UltraBeauty until you walk in and explore! Also, the spa gave us complimentary champagne, chocolate strawberries, and full access to the sauna and wet steam room. It is still a mystery to me how they made sure each of us felt like "queen for the day".
I certainly plan to return to UltraBeauty in the near future. My experience there was worth raving about, so I'm glad I found this site to express how pleased I was with their services, their staff and their facility! Maybe I'll be lucky enough that my husband will pick up a gift certificate for Christmas...I certainly could use another day of peace and reprieve! And I bet you could too!
A terrible excuse for a Spa – Having gone to almost all Philadelphia Spas since coming from my country I can tell you that this place is just awful.Although it looks fairly nice, the staff are poorly trained and the services were just terrible.
If I wanted a skin rash I could get it but not from a facial and a massage.

awesome massage – Susan was amazing, the massage left nothing to be desired, I will keep coming back to Susan, and the rooms were large, warm, and cozy
Best massage and facial in the city! – I went to ultrabeauty on 9/1/06. I made an appointment and the receptionist was very nice and helpful. The decor is very nice and the staff was awesome! I received exceptional service. I purchased the Plan b and it it was worth every penny! The swedish massage from Susan was absolutely heaven! The facial was out of this world and My body scrub was perfect! My skin was so soft and smooth after my treatments. I was so pleased that i have booked another day at this spa and they have me hooked! Thank you ultrabeauty!
