Good Bartenders – I have been going there for years. Like all places on a friday night you wait, but good music helps time go by. Love the goat cheese toast and the perogies. Keep it up!
somewhat artsy atmosphere with a couple arcade games. $3 margaritas. Nice selection of bottled beer.
A comfortable place for food and drink since the 1970s. – In Short
This casual bar and restaurant is a fixture on one of Philly's prettiest residential blocks. Still emulating its glory days as one of the city's original late-'70s fern bars, the vaguely artsy staff and clientele keeps the tavern from being just another neighborhood watering hole. Rotating art exhibits and live music entertain upscale neighbors and suburban visitors. Those who stick with the basic comfort food on the large menu won't be disappointed.
A great place if you have lots of patience and time; not so good if you're hungry and thirsty – I've heard many people talk about Tavern on Green and was optimistic about seeing what they had to offer. I happened to be in the area this weekend and was looking for a place to eat with a friend. The reputation brought me through the door and the experience has made sure that I will not return. It wasn't crowded when we came in and they had enough staff, so there was no reason why the service should be so lousy. The food was good when it finally arrived (except for the queso fundido--but what do you expect from a non-Mexican place), but it took forever to get a table, to place our order, to get drinks refilled, and to pay the check. To top it off the waitress was rude.
I'm sure that this place is great if all you want is a cold beer, but you're better off going up to the bar to order. Otherwise, plan on sitting with a thirst and an empty glass for much longer than necessary. I don't ask for much, but I need more than this.
Great Place – The food is great...the service is possibly the best in the city...beer selection is great...its an all-around great value for a full meal or just a good sandwich and beer
SOFA gem – Great burgers and simple -- though not dull -- food Appetizer platters are generous and well-balanced. Probably the best value in Fairmount.
