Worst Bar and Restaurant Around – As a former employee of chickies i have to say i know the managers are racist. Some are 40 years old and are taking home the 16 year olds from other countries that work there the food is never prepped correctly the employees never were gloves when making the food food is dropped on the floor preecooked or not cooked at all and sold food is also expired has gone spoiled and is not edible but is sold. Its way to pricy for the crap they serve. Oh yeah get your own fries and some cacion seasoning its no big secret. beer sold even when returned fdrom a custumer it sits on ice until u want it plus its opened sewer rises up in the kitchen so your working a a sewer plant while making uncooked food with no gloves employees are expected to play in sewer before they make your food dishes are grimey look for yourself and the pots and pans they use to cook are slimey and never cleaned dishwasher is cleaning dishes without cleaning chemicles freezers and ovens are broke leaving you with raw spoiled food top work with i never ate there i worked there and let me tell you it is a poop hole never go there and the people are in there little click that is always right and you are always wrong. they are pigs and scumbags and provide no training at all. hoppe this review helped you decide not to go there ever .
ehh..had better had worse – Chickie's and Pete's is pretty good if your looking for a nice sports bar. Of course they have the legendary crab fries and seafood but other then that they don't have a very big selection. If you are getting appetizers like chicken fingers and the crab fries, they will be out unusually fast but if you got a burger it will take about 5 or 10 mins longer, so your stuck with cold fries and hard cold cheese. The people who work there usually aren't the most pleasant. But the people over at the bar always seem to have a pretty good time. So, its a good place to go and drink and to have some bar food although there are many other better places in philly to go to, to watch the game and eat, a much more abundance of food a lot cheaper with a much more pleasant experience. even some private places that are a whole lot better. I recommend almost any other bar before this one.
Mediocre Seafood and Bad Service – I have been several times and each time was not a good experience. The food is nothing to talk about and the service is even worse. I am a person of color and not once have I seen another person serving, bartending or hosting and forget managing. I was there this past Saturday and to my surprise they had employed a person of color to work as the bathroom attendant. Is that all we are fit to do in this establishment? I have not been in the kitchen but maybe they have some in the back too. I also met someone of color who was visiting from the South and he was very angry because he could not get service at the bar. He felt like he was being discriminated against. My husband had mention to some of his friends that we would be going to C&P and the first thing they all said was that place is prejudice. My husband and I went with the kids when the restaurant was nearly empty and our waitress was awful. She did not check on us and she was slow not accomodating at all. Its obvious that the staff receives little or no traing on working with the public. I did visit the S. Philly location once and the service was not so bad there but the the NE philly location is on the top of my list of the worse places to go to. People save your money and buy your own fries, Old Bay and melt some american cheese. I recommend Dave and Busters better service, staff and more diverse all around. C&P management train your staff better and hore some people of color for jobs other than cook or bathroom attendant or you will be facing some class action lawsuits in the future.
worst service ever! – This is the first time I have left a message and I just had to because of the horrible experience I had a Chickie and Pete's. The waitress was extremely rude. The entire time she obviously had no patients for customers who had never been there before (and will never go back). After we payed the check she came back to clear more from our table and said, "You guys have to get going. We have a lot of people coming in tonight." I'm appalled as I have never been treated with such rudeness before. And the annoying part was since we had a party of people an 18% gratuity was included on the bill.
you gotta be kidding – This place is a dive..the service is poor, the food is bad, the televisions are small and the place smells like lysol.... our waitress was very rude and could care less about providing any type of service to us. ..me and my family will never go back again.....and those so called "crab fries"....what a joke
the worst of the worst – not sure what the popularity is with this place...its dirty ...the bathrooms are worse then an old gas station..the bartenders cant make drinks..the food is terrible...they claim to have invented "crabfries" which are just just plain french fries with oldbay season on em.. they only use plastic forks, plastic knives and paper plates.. over all its just bad on all levels
A good hometown bar! – There's a lot of places in Philly that you can go to but Chickie's & Pete's Cafe on Robbins Ave. has that "good hometown bar" atmosphere! Right away when I entered, the friendly staff made me feel right at home. John kept my glass of beer full and my chicken fingers was just the way I like them.... If you like watching sports with fun and laughter, look for this place in North Philly!!!
Could eat here every day – I love this place. The people at the Boulevard one need an attitude adjustment though. If you want great friendly service, go to the Robins avenue one. It's crowded and small, but the atmosphere is the best. Crabs, mussels, hot shrimp and lots of bread to sop up the awesome garlic sauce.
Lots of fun for games – Chickie and Petes is not somewhere that you go to have a full dinner. Thier crab fries are a signiture item...the mussels red seem to be a favorite among the people that I go with as well as the crab legs. If you are wanting a place to go to watch a big game...C & P's is your answer
Try to catch an Eagles game here--if you can get in the door. – In Short
The original in a chain of working-class sports bars, this pub packs in local fans seven nights a week. Chickie's atmosphere--big bars, flat-screen TVs, Coors Light banners--is a sports fan's dream. Woe to the poor guy who comes in wearing a Cowboys sweatshirt. This self-proclaimed inventor of Old Bay-dusted crab fries prides itself on messy eating. Cutlet sandwiches, Wiz-stuffed poppers, hit-or-miss wings, decent mussels red and hot roast beef are customer favorites.
