Excellent! – I LOVE BBQ! REAL BBQ! This was my first visit and Dwight's is definitely one of the best I have found! Walking down Germantown Av, the air carries the delicious aroma of BBQ. The sauce is unique. Smoky and kind of tangy. There is kind of an "after-spicy" to it that is delicious. And the ribs are perfectly "fall off the bone" tender. My only regret was not trying something off of the desert menu! I will be going back soon!
Best Bar B Q spot – I've been eating Dwights fors over 10 years. It is absolutely the best Bar B Q spot I've ever tasted. It is cooked in a charcoal pit. The sauce is delicious. You will keep going back.

Dwight's pork ribs are beyond reproach - seared on the outside and tender at the bone. The beef ribs are succulent and flavorful, if a little fatty. Perhaps this is like complaining if the sky is blue. Save room for side dishes like candied yams, collards and a truly superior mac and cheese that combines Longhorn cheddar, sharp cheddar and parmesan.
THE best ribs in town – I've been to Ron's, Phoebe's, Rib Crib, Rib Rack, Sweet Lucy's, Abner's, and Dwight's on Lancaster Ave, and I always keep coming back to Dwight's II. Granted I haven't hit up every "good" rib joint in the city, but I've been to eight of them and Dwight's II comes out on top. They have the meatiest and best beef ribs I've had in the area and the pork is right up there. The cornbread is good and they always have an assortment of cakes for dessert (I reccommend the double chocolate cake). The wait is certainly longer here than say Ron's or Rib Crib, but it's well worth it. Wait times are usually 15-30 mintues depending on volume, but you can call ahead. You also can't beat their hours. One word of caution however, aside from the fact that their ribs are addictive (seriously), they sometimes run out of beef ribs. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen from time to time. It's kind of a seedy-looking joint in a not-so-good neighborhood (my friends give me weird looks when we pass and I say I frequent there), but in my experience, the dumpier the joint, the better the ribs. You can go to a nicer, sit-down, more family-oriented place like Sweet Lucy's or Rib Rack, but you won't be getting the best ribs. You also won't be getting the full experience; I've talked to many nice folk there as we wait for our meals. Try them once and you'll be hooked like me.
