Its the best... – This is the best sushi place to go to in SF.... Living here for 8 years, i have gone and sat at most of the sushi bars in the bay area and when i found Hamano i was so happy - that was like 3 years go. I still find Hamano the top on my list. They have the freshest and the plumpiest fish and most of the chefs have amazing skills. What is also great is that they have many great specials and also you can be creative to ask for your own rolls too. I highly recommend you to check it out!

Good Sushi – This place get's mixed reviews, but Everytime I go there it's fine. The sushi is good and service is good. Maybe if you could explain why something is bad, they will improve it. The Decor is ok, to me. It doesn't look like mcdonalds.

A great Sushi Chef is key 4 great sushi – The top sushi chef at Hamano is Hiro. Hiro arrived at Hamano over a year ago and has one of the largest clientele followings in SF! You may ask why would a sushi chef have a so called fan club? Its simple, Hiro buys and prepares only the freshest fish that literally melts in your mouth!

Anyone can be a good sushi chef but, the great ones are trained for many years in Japan as in Hiro's case.

So, the next time you want the best sushi in town go to Hamano's and ask for Hiro to prepare your fish. Then you too will know why Hiro's sushi is the best you'll ever have....Sushi that is fresh and cut properly will melt in your mouth leaving you wanting more, and more, and more!

Hamano probably offers the best sushi I've ever had (especially the hamachi) and it's definitely the best in Noe Valley. The slices of fish are extremely fresh and well proportioned. I hate going to places where the fish is thinly sliced and Hamano definitely doesn't do that. We sat at the sushi bar, and had a great, friendly, professional sushi chef serve us. I had heard horror stories about the service so this was a pleasant surprise. Most nigiri sushi is $4.95 (for 2 pieces). Most rolls are around $6-8. Right now, there is a $5 off dinner coupon if you can get your hands on a Noe Valley Voice (and 20% off lunch).

The Best! – The best suchi in town. Big pieces of sashimi, very fresh. The food is always nicely presented. Little pricy, but definately worth it!

I have been eating at Hamano for the past 8 years and not once(in my thrice monthly excursions) have I had anything but the most sublime quality fish.

The Best in the City – I've been to a lot of sushi places in the city and Hamano is still my favorite. The fish is ALWAYS so fresh that you know it was swimming just yesterday (or this morning). Hamano's spicy tuna roll (ask for it extra spicy if you dare) is the only spicy tuna I've had that isn't slathered with mayo - just hot sauce and fresh mint...mmm. Hamano also gives you huge slices of fish, so the expense is justified. Sit at the sushi bar if you can - service tends to be slow at the tables.

The best sushi ! – They serve the best sushi around the city! In terms of quality of the fish, cutting, size, everything is top notch. It is very hard to find a place like Hamano. Sit at the sushi bar! What i like also is that you can request for your own maki rolls be entertained with creative beautiful dishes... The other japanese menus are also very enjoyable too. I have been eating sushi all my life, one thing i know for sure, this is the best place.

Seconded - why go to ebisu? – Delicious, fresh sushi and good service! It's also nice that they are open for lunch, since many sushi restaurants generally are not. Also, very reasonably priced!
