Skip Pearl, mom and pop shops are online now. Same in Chicago, rude, rude, rude at Pearl.

I go to Genesis, which is out of the way, but online they have everything - artsupply(dot)com

Satisfactorily Awesome!!. I got to the store and as soon as i got there someone that worked there walked up to me and slapped me in the face. Then they called me gay, not that theres anything wrong with that, even though I would clearly be seen as heterosexual with my American flag bandana and Timberland boots. I will probably return but I will probably bring my pocket knife.

Staff: miserable and rude. I can say that I never patronize stores based on their customer service, but this Pearl has THE most miserable, rude, and lazy staff I have ever encountered. I have experienced this there to varying degrees before, but my last visit included staff who would rather finish a lengthy conversation than do their jobs (assist a customer), were rude as I was making a PURCHASE, and unaccomadating has topped it all. I will NOT return.

If you're headed for fine art supplies, forget it. They may "have" what you're looking for, but it's almost never in stock.
