AWFUL! I wish I read these reviews... – Worst place ever! They literally ripped my hair out of my hair-with the comb AND on the braids!.I'm serious-2 braids where ripped from my scalp! I'm concerned I'm going to lose braids-and my hair and I'm considering taking them out...
There are HUGE gaps in the middle of my head (I can fit 2 fingers between the braids) -not to mention my braids looked nothing like the micro-twist I requested.-I twist better when I'm touching up my my braids myself. I should have read these reviews...it was the WORST braiding experience I've ever had in my life. If you care about your hair and scalp-DON'T GO THIS SHOP!
Kany's African Braiding & Locking – The worst service I have EVER encountered in Philly. Too bad there isn't an option for a zero star rating. There aren't enough negative adjectives to describe the awful experience I had at this braiding salon. Stylists were extremely rude and nasty. They act as if they don't understand one word you're saying, unless it pertains to payment, of course. Not only did the woman braiding my hair yank on my scalp as if she were trying to remove my brain, she coughed directly into my face SEVERAL times, and went on as if it were nothing, despite the look of disgust I gave her. Also, the service took twice as long as it should have.
Ladies, save yourselves some time and money and try out one of the salons along 5th Street and Olney Avenue instead. You'll be glad you did.
Customer service? – Where do I start? For one, the person I made the appointment with did one row of braids, got up and started on another person's hair and someone else finished my hair. That woman smacked gum in my ear all night, continuously kept answering her cell phone that was ringing in my other ear with the beyonce's Baby Boy and Akon's Nobody wants to see us together ringtones. After several hours of her huffing in my ear when my head would move from the spot she preferred and don't even get me started on them speaking in their native tongues (and I know she was talking about me!), when we were leaving the shop at 1:30 am she had the nerve to ask me for a ride home. The worst part of it all was the fact that whomever I spoke with over the phone told me 140.00 but when I got there and my hair was a third of the way done, she asked me to pay and said that it would be 180.00 because my hair is short. My hair was short when i sat down, shouldn't she have said something then???
Worst Braider in Tri-State – I've had my hair braided many times at different salons, and Kany's is the absolute worst. The braider ripped through my hair and pulled at my scalp like I wasn't human. She was unfriendly and didn't listen to my requests. If I'm going to pay $140 for a style, the stylist needs to LISTEN to what I say. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Do NOT patronize this place. There are too many salons out there who care about their customers to waste time with the ones who don't. The best part of all? One braid fell out the day I had the style done, and more braids came out shortly after.
One of THE WORST braiders I've encountered in the Tri-state.
