You don't come here for haute cuisine. The food is old school (think Chicken Marsala) and the crowd all neighborhood folk. Total 3 star.

Average food, brutal service – It was a beautiful night and we decided to eat outside on the patio. There were maybe 5 other couples in the restaurant, but that didn't stop the servers from ignoring us. Not once did they ask us if we were enjoying our meal. Not once did our waiter thank us for coming. The food was decent but there are way too many fine Italian restaurants in SF to deal with horrible service.

Italian Gem on Fillmore – Dining at Via Veneto is always a lovely experience. The food is reliably delicious, the service is always warm, and the owner is almost always present, making the rounds and making sure everything is on point. The atmosphere is relaxed and refined at the same time. This restaurant is a great find, and highly recommended.

Great reasonable priced italian – I go here all the time. I get the carpaccio and grilled salmon everytime. Great desert. The service is wonderful. I always leave with a full stomach. I never leave with a disappointing meal.

Great Food, authentic ambience – We had a couple of the night's specials and they were very good. The ravioli was fantastic. It is a nice place and you can sit at the bar if you just want to pop in for a glass of wine. The staff were all very friendly, and the owner was there and made an appearance at every table at some point. Very friendly and very Italian.

Unsalted... – Given that this restaurant lives in the Fillmore district, I had some decent expectations. The hostess was not welcoming and the wine was horrible. I order Chianti and I might as well have order carbonated grape juice. The second glass was slightly better, but more along the lines of Franzia. The salads were refreshing but the entrees were simply abhorrent. My date ordered the salmon and bass special -- aka, unsalted, unseasoned, frozen fish with tater tots and overcooked brocolli. My dish, which was described as a grilled chicken breast over sauted spinach, was a dry, unsalted hunk of chicken with a mound of spinach on the side and tator tots. Clearly, an attempt was made at a gourmet plate that failed beyond words. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone....

Via Veneto ~ My Fillmore Standby!!! – Whenever I am in the city I always head for Via Veneto ~ Massimo greets you like family with a ready smile, and will accomodate your every wish. I have tried many things on the menu but I am always drawn toward their veal, no matter how it is prepared it is consistently delicious.

Not bad but to many others places in SF – The ambiance is nice overlooking fillmore St. Try to get a window seat if you go. The menu is very reasonable. I had chicken marsala which was pretty good. They could have put another piece of chicken on my plate however. Nicely cooked vegtables. This places was ok but there is just to many better places to go for Italian food in the city.

Good Inexpensive Pasta – We eat here once (sometimes twice) a month, and have found nothing to complain about. I love the Caesar salad and all of the pastas. The decor is refreshing, light, and airy. The outside patio in the back is nice on a sunny day. The owner/manager is always cheery and seats us promptly. Service is average. Prices are reasonable.

Rather blasee...... – Actually, I think I'm being kind by giving this restaurant as high a rating as I'm giving it. Food was very mediocre. Way too much tomato sauce on my pasta. I was barely waited on and the waiter, although civil, really had no personality. If you're on Fillmore and you want to have lunch and can't go to La Posada, stop on in....I guess. It'll get rid of the hunger pangs, but there was really nothing to entice me to go back.
