Go for the ambience, not the food – We went for my birthday and were largely disappointed. While the ambience at the Dilworthtown Inn is very nice and service was generally very good, albeit slow, the food just doesn't live up to expectations for the price. I had to send back my $40 steak which was way, way over done. A high end restaurant would offer to re-do your wife's meal as well (so you can eat together), but not here. After 15 minutes (by then, my wife was done) it arrived. Still over cooked, but not nearly as much. Steaks aren't seasoned, so they are pretty bland. She had the crab cake, which was just OK. We've had much better steaks at Sullivan's or Harry's Savoy (which are both cheaper.) The Caesar Salad (made at your table) was good, at least.

An historic colonial inn offers exceptional cuisine in a cozy setting. – In Short
Built in 1758, this one-time boarding house has been a dinner-only destination since 1972. The restaurant seats over 200, but its three floors of 15 separate dining rooms each offer a more intimate atmosphere. Gas lamps, candles and fireplaces help too. The menu boasts creative cuisine that leans toward New American with Asian influences. Main course standouts include roasted Chilean sea bass and tender grilled veal chop.

A Winner! – This was our 5th time dining here and my wife and I have loved it every time. The food is excellent, from the crab cake or ginger lobster appetizers to the chilean sea bass and venison entree's....tasty desserts, friendly wait staff...and don't forget to stop by the fireplace bar for a cocktail before or after dinner. a wonderful place to dine, especially around the holidays. We always look forward to our next visit.

Fabulous!! – It has all the class of a great center city restaurant without the parking hassles. Service was great and the food was even better!

Dil(notworthit)town Inn – WOW! What a complete waste of time and money! The wait my companion and I endured for the quality of food and service was excruciating. What has happened to this grande dame? Won't return, won't recommend!

Overpriced, pretentious, mediocre service (forgot our soup, waited LONG time bet. courses, had to BEG for rolls), old-fashioned, loaded w/ butter. "Hi I am your waiter, Bozo, etc." No idea as to what was in "specials" . . . typical Chester County hype. Some flash, no substance. Save your money. Oh yeah . . . new chef from Alabama!! It shows.

Tall food presentations-lower standards – The food was good, but far from the gourmet delight you might expect for the price. The food also seemed to echo the gourmet trend of presentation (high above the plate) over portion--there was not really that much there. Generally, we found the restaurant to be stuffy and the food decent, but disappointing.

Beautiful! – Everything is perfectly organized. While I wasn't a huge fan of the food, the service is awsome, and the decor is horse and carriage fantastic.
