Best Mexican Food Ever!!!! – Service was the not the best. As a matter of fact it was the worst part if you are not willing to wait. HOWEVER, the food was the best mexican food that I have ever had. Even the chip and salsa was the best I have ever had. I give this place a 5 for rating only because the food more then makes up for the service.
NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE, ITS A WASTE OF TIME – I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant before!! After making reservations a month prior, (and confirming my reservations 4 times) I showed up with a large group and was told by the incompetent hostess, "We dont take reservations."
We didnt even make it to dinner, as we decided our money would be better spent elsewhere. I couldn't even begin to explain how rude the manager David was, and how he spoke so condecendingly to me. My best recommendation is to NEVER even bother to go to this establishment. They will only treat you like dirt from the moment you walk in.
If you value your money and time, go to El Vez....the guacamole is fantastic and the service is wonderful.
Terrible Service – We called for months to get reservations outside for 16 people for my best friends birthday! They assured us it would be setup etc. We got there Friday night and they had NOTHING set up for us. The old bald man we spoke to said he doesnt take reservations.....we will never go back there again! AWFUL service and RUDE employees, for food that isnt even that good!
Very Cool Place, worth the wait. – Hopefully all the bad reviews and high prices will scare away enough people so that I can get a table. Get the steak special...fabulous. It has been a special for over 2 years and counting.....haha. Have a few margueritas and shots of tequila and you won't mind the wait or the hostess.
Horrible service – Four girlfriends and I went here for dinner a few weeks ago on a week night. Three of us were present and we put our name in for an outside table. We were waiting on two others and they said they would not seat us until everyone was there. Hate that ? but fair enough I guess.
They ended up seating the three of us as we had been sitting at the bar for awhile with drinks, but no food. We sat at the table for a good amount of time and no one came by to give us water or chips and salsa or anything. When the waiter finally did get to our table, we were ready with an appetizer and drink order. He says ?Well, you can't order any appetizers until everyone gets here - you have to order your apps and entrees together because we have to move things along? !!!!!!!!!!!!!! He actually said that!!! We were annoyed to say the least. We finally get to sit down but now you won?t serve us food? Wouldn't it move things along more quickly if you put the order in sooner than later? What?s the logic on that?
The last two ladies arrived; we filled them in on the absurdities of this place and then hurried them along to pick their entrees. One in the group wanted to order an appetizer for dinner and the waiter directed us to the sign on the table that stated EVERYONE at the table must order an entree. She offered to pay for a larger portion of the appetizer ? but this was shot down immediately. It?s not like we were drunken college students just wanting to sit down and order chips! We are 5 women trying to go out and have a nice dinner! Clearly, we were striking out all over at this place.
The food was good, but overpriced ? nothing to write home about though. The outside patio is beautiful ? but not beautiful enough for me to put up with that service again. Someone needs to remind them that they are a restaurant that has paying customers wanting a relaxing night out ? not a middle school cafeteria where you get shackled with rules.
WORST SERVICE, NOT WELCOMING TO ALL NATIONALITIES!! – I went to Coyote Crossings with 4 other friends and was told that outside wait for an hour and 45 minutes, and the inside wait was an hour. We chose to wait for the inside due to the shorter wait. However, after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting, we asked the hostess how much longer we had to wait, she informed us that there were 2 people in front of us. I was at the bar and a couple who had come later than us, by at least 30 minutes, was seated before us. Meanwhile, over 4 tables outside had opened up and when we asked when we'd be seated, there were at least 3 tables that could accomodate us, yet they did not seat us. We ended up waiting 2 hours before my friend told the hostess, if you do not seat us, we will leave. Conveniently, they were able to seat us, but it gets better. We sat down and NOT ONE SERVER GREETED US, OR GAVE US SILVERWARE, OR EVEN ASKED IF WE NEEDED WATER. We waited 15 minutes yet no one came. We ended up leaving due to the poor service. My friend spoke to the manager and he gave him a paltry $30 gift certificate. Any reputable establishment would have comp'ed the entire meal. He was rude and did not care how he was treating us. He was not welcoming to all nationalities and condescending. The gift certificate has no significance to me, since I will never step foot in that establishment ever again. The table that they sat us at, there will 3 other open, the same exact size open, even when we asked how much longer we had to wait. I will report them to the bureau. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
Worst service host ever – Called to ask about table wait, only to be insulted and snapped at. Have been there in the past and had great meals, but food is overshadowed by rude service expecially the friday evening host. Music entirely to loud. Was left confused and shocked.
Beautiful Courtyard Dinning Lost in Terrible Service, Appathetic Management & Awful "Pretend" Mexican Food – We visited Coyote Crossing as a group for the last time. Our prior visit, over a year ago, was fabulous! we were so pleased with everything. I lived in Mexico for over 15 yrs. I know good Mexican food. This visit was totally opposite our first, and it was embarrassing as well, since we invited our parents who were anxious to experience the wonders we experienced during our first visit. We were all terribly dissapointed w/ the food--apparently the new "chef" changed the menu to what is now, Faux Mexican, w/a much higher price tag than our last visit. What was more infurriating was that dishes held the names of real Mexican dishes, yet when they arrived they were so far from Mexican we could have gone to any Nouveau Cuisine restaurant. The combo of ingredients was horrible. The Chiles Rellenos were small poblano pepers filled with a mixture of ingredients & spices that tasted nothing of Mexico, the Salmon I ordered was the worse Salmon dish I've ever had. It was not fresh (as they reported), was fishy, dry and covered w/ a sauce that clashed terribly w/ the natural flavor of Salmon, the tamale that came with it was as hard & dry as a rock. The appetizers were nothing to write about & were also Faux Mexican they could have been served anywhere.
Service was bad, our drinks were served one person at a time, w/ long waits from the time the 1st one got their drink & the last one got theirs. My companion's drink had small pieces of paper floating in it and it took over 20 mins. to flag anyone down to attend to this. It would have been faster for us to have gone to the market for water than wait for the servers to remember our repeated requests for water.
What put the nail in the coffin was the uninterested attitude the manager had when we spoke with him about all the problems we had during our meal. He shrugged, nodded, said thank you and left.
Bad experience – This was my favorite outside venue, not anymore! They have raised prices to a fine dining level without delivering an experience commensurate with the increase. Appetizers around $15, scallops $29, fajitas $21. We tolerated the wait before and it was worth it, but a bad manager seems to give the entire front of the house an attitude. I gave them a poor written review after our meal on the card provided and, after asking what was wrong, the manager said, "I run this place and I run it well, now what's the bottom line because I have to get back to work!" The Bottom line is, the fish was undercooked, the service was bad, and the prices are silly h for what they deliver. We would have given it a 2nd chance if the manager wasn't rude but we won't go back and we cannot recommend Coyote Crossing to anyone.
Good Experience – I loved the food here. I liked the ambiance too. Margaritas were good. We went there are as a group of 10. Service was prompt and nice. It is definitely worth a try.
