37.769296 -122.451703so delicious!. okay, when i read these reviews i can't believe how different opinions can be! my best friend went to berkeley 10 years ago and was obsessed with zona rosa. on a recent roadtrip to the bay, we found one next to our hotel in the haight. she was overjoyed. i got the carnitas burrito and, i am sorry, but that is the most delicious burrito i have ever enjoyed. i live in socal and can't find anything as flavorful and grubby and perfect as this burrito. and i was sober. seriously people, try it. it's two meals in one and it is divine!
Editorial Review. Sample authentic Mexican fare including burritos, nachos and more in restaurant decked out with colorful Aztecan art.
Great quick food. This place hits the spot and is super cheap! The salsa is homemade and very good! I had the nachos, which are huge and definitely enough to feed 2 people. All of the ingredients are right out in front and you watch them make the food. Everything is fresh and simple. Will be returning many times I'm sure.
Monster Size Burritos!!!!. After a nice sunday trotting around the haight my girlfriend and i wanted some Mexican food. Popped into Zona Rosa and after seeing the size of those burritos we were a little intimidated... so we got the Zona Tacos and the nachos... The Taco was a monster and the nachos were great! Two Thumbs up from this Guy!!!
The Best Burritos around. Zona Rosa makes unbelievably tasty burritos. They are the best you can get in the Haight, and maybe in all of San Francisco. I can't get enough!!
Not good. I've heard so much about this place over the years, and it still fails to deliver. The burritos are soggy, and overall the quality is poor. The saving grace of this place is its carnitas.
Healthy food.
Good and healthy food. Fresh vegetables. Generous portion - comes with nacho. The nachos are hard though.
I've been here several times. I tried tamales and tacos. One taco, which has 2 tortillas, is big enough to fill me up.
Their salsa are pretty good.
Unfortunately this place doesn't have the famous Mexican beverage, horchata. One Mexican restaurant I've tried (see Taqueria Maria review) even has horchata, tamarind, strawberry and cantaloupe.
The employees have good attitudes.
I was buying 3 tacos to go (for 3 people) and the employee put those in 2 boxes. After I let her know that those tacos were for 3 different people, she made new ones because those tacos were mixed in the box and couldn't be separated easily.
Parking could be a problem because it's hard to find the street parking. Another option, you can try the public parking across which costs $7. Expensive.
Wonderful Burritos.
After three years in SF, I started eating and loving the massive Cali style burritos about 6 months ago.
I've only been to 8 or 9 places, but Zona Rosa is the best I've had. Great meats (lean, flavorful) and damn good rice beans and guac/sourcream. Not too expensive either. The best I've had, everyone I talk to says similar. Definitely worth checking out.
As good or better than Mission Mexican. I live near Zona Rosa, so I eat there quite a bit. As I've sampled more mexican food around the city, I keep coming back for the guacamole and awesome refried beans. There vegetarian burrito is hands down the best in the city. Zona Rosa is every bit as good as any joint I've been in the Mission, and the atmosphere is exaclty what you'd want in a taqueria. It's authentic, the portions are huge and the food is really, really good. People who think that the only good mexican is in the Mission should try ZR and stop stereotyping!
whoa.. When I first got my carne asada burrito, I thought it looked a little small. Wow, was I wrong! The food was delicious, and I was almost hungover with how much food I tried to consume in one sitting! Ah, pure gluttony.
