Millenium is a negative – I got my hair done there and the braider was unprofessional. Me being a licensed hair stylist and expert braider believe in people being on time, excellent at what they do and having their business together. She didnt have a price for me even after I told her what I wanted and she saw my hair. It seemed like she was tryna see what I was workin with to see if she could overcharge me. The braids were ok but I couldve done them better on myslef, which i did. =)
Great Expectations – I first visited Millenium in January 2006. Now typically you cannot expect to get a good weave done on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment. But at Millenium that wasn't the case, I didn't have to wait long and the end result was immaculate. I recommend anyone who needs a great beautician go to New Millenium.
don't get your hair braided here – I went there to to get my braids done and wasn't satisfied either. Unprofessionalism, like the other person said. And my braids are already slipping out. I too, know how to take care of braids and I'm mad as hell that I spent this much money on something that isn't going to last.
I do have to say it's real messed up how they do you, so watch out for the hair braiders.
i always like to leave w/a positvie. and if you do go to this hair shop, go upstairs. there was this weave techicain that seemed to know what she was doing and she was waiting for clients instead of clients waiting for her.
Avoid @ all costs, unprofessional – I just moved to LA and needed my hair braided. I got this number from a friend who had previously had her hair done by an employee "A". Now my friend (let's call her Michelle) had braids continously falling out of her head. I figured it was because her hair is shorter in the back , but I still decided go despite that. So I call to make an appointment for the next week, "A" tells me ok, to call back 2 days prior to the appointment so that I could remind her. She picks the time, 8am. I figure ok, morning is fine, so that I can go about my day. Now keep in mind SHE set the time and tells me that it would be $200 for single human hair braids (medium sized). At this point, I'm thinking she was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL because she never asked for my name or number. Usually when I make an appt, they call me back to confirm. So on the day of the appointment, I drag myself out of bed, rush over & she's not there. CP time, so at first I'm not too mad, but then 40 minutes go by. Amy calls & tells me that she is in traffic. Never did I get an apology. I should have told her if you were on time, there would be no traffic. Already not a good way to start the day. She finally gets there at 9:10am & when I take out the human hair she questions the hair that I bought, saying that it was straight and she charges more for that. Which is something she should have said from the jump. I'm irriated at this point and I tell her $200 is all I have and she says something about tipping her what I could. Now would you tip someone who has treated you this way, while you are a paying customer. Luckily the process only lasted 5 hours
2 weeks later and my braids don't look up to par like they should. I wear braids often, so I know how to keep them up , wrapping it every night, etc, but already her braids are starting to slip. Not only that but the nail glue that she used to secure the braid is flaky and there is white stuff that I constantly have to pick out. Better luck somewhere else.
